Tips to help motorbike drivers save fuel

To help the vehicle save fuel, the driver should drive steadily, not accelerate or accelerate suddenly, and regularly maintain and change the engine oil...

1. Regular vehicle maintenance

Parts such as belts, air filters, electronic fuel injection systems, carburetors, spark plugs, etc. are the parts that directly determine fuel consumption. Therefore, to save fuel, you should regularly take your vehicle for maintenance and periodic inspection.

You should also change the engine oil regularly to make the engine work more efficiently, helping the vehicle save fuel. Because if you use oil with too high viscosity, the energy and time spent pumping the oil to the place that needs lubrication will be higher, so it will consume more fuel.

2. Drive steadily, do not speed or brake suddenly.

To save fuel, you should hold the throttle and control the vehicle steadily. Avoid accelerating or going too slow... because when accelerating, the engine must overcome the inertia of the vehicle to accelerate, the engine needs to generate more power so it needs more gasoline. When decelerating suddenly, the kinetic energy of the vehicle (created by gasoline) is converted into heat energy on the brake pads and dissipated into the air, also wasting gasoline.

3. Do not accelerate suddenly after stopping at a red light.

Many people, after stopping at a red light, often suddenly turn on the gas to speed up. However, this is an action that causes the car to consume several times more fuel than normal.

So to save fuel, after the red light is over you should accelerate slowly and shift gears smoothly.

4. Turn off the engine when stopping at red lights

Everyone thinks that turning off the engine at a red light and then starting it up at a green light is more expensive than leaving it running. However, this is not the case. Because with vehicles equipped with electronic fuel injection systems, each start-up uses very little fuel (if the engine has been warmed up).

Meanwhile, every minute the car is idling uses up enough gas to get you nearly another mile.

However, it is not necessary for short red lights. You turn off the engine when you have to stop for 20 seconds or more.

5. Check tire pressure regularly

In case the pressure is not enough, it will increase friction, causing the engine to work harder, the car will move more slowly, so it will consume more fuel. Therefore, if you want the car to not waste gas, you must inflate the tires according to the pressure specified by the car manufacturer.

Normally, for 100-110cc vehicles, the correct tire pressure for the rear wheel is: 3Kg/cm2, for the front wheel is: 2.3Kg/cm2.

6. Change numbers frequently

Many people (especially women) often have the habit of leaving the same gear unchanged whether going fast or slow, uphill or downhill... This makes your car not only consume more fuel but also break down faster. Therefore, if you want to save money and prolong the life of your car, you should change gears to suit the speed and type of road.

When the vehicle encounters a slope or enters a bad road, shift to a lower gear, 1st or 2nd gear. When stopping at an intersection, reduce the throttle and shift to a lower gear than the one just used. When the vehicle starts rolling, shift to 1st gear./.
