Rally in response to World Environment Day June 5

(Baonghean.vn)- To protect the environment and respond to climate change, it is necessary to involve organizations and raise awareness from each citizen. This is the message at the Rally to celebrate World Environment Day (June 5).

Environmental pollution and climate change are major challenges facing humanity today. Vietnam is considered a country heavily affected by climate change, especially rising sea levels, extreme weather events such as sun, heat, and drought, which have had long-term impacts and consequences on socio-economic development.

Faced with the above situation, it is necessary to enhance the leadership and direction of Party committees and authorities, the active participation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, mass organizations and the awareness of each citizen about the position and importance of environmental protection, sea and island sovereignty in the cause of national construction and defense.

At the same time, propagate and mobilize all people about awareness and knowledge of living in an environmentally friendly manner;Use resources rationally, fight to overcome production and consumption habits that harm the environment and resources. From there, change awareness, form a cultural lifestyle in environmental protection, and respond to climate change.

At the rally in response to World Environment Day, World Oceans Day, Vietnam Sea and Islands Week 2017 with the theme "Living in harmony with nature", "For our future", "Our ocean, our future", the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee requested organizations, agencies, units, communities and each person to join hands to protect the environment; continue to review, supplement, build and organize the implementation of village covenants and conventions of residential areas, and have a commitment to each household about not violating environmental protection laws.

The provincial Fatherland Front leaders mobilized people to take specific measures to effectively handle environmental pollution in production and livestock breeding; strengthen inspection and supervision, recommend competent agencies to handle environmental pollution, pay attention to investing in construction of waste and wastewater treatment facilities, environmental technical infrastructure; build residential areas that say no to dirty food.

Organize popularization activities and introduce advanced models of environmental protection, biodiversity conservation, resource protection, and sustainable response to climate change.

Tru 2 Hamlet, Kim Lien Commune, Nam Dan District is the residential area chosen to build a model for environmental protection.

Responding to World Environment Day, many local people from all walks of life participated in cleaning up the environment in the hamlet; striving to soon build the hamlet into a cultural residential area in environmental protection and response to climate change./.
