(Baonghean.vn) - This is one of the issues raised by Deputy Minister of Education and Training Ngo Thi Minh at the conference "Implementing political education tasks, student affairs and training on ensuring security and order in educational institutions".

On the afternoon of September 30th, at Vinh University, the Ministry of Education and Training, in coordination with the Ministry of Public Security, organized a conference titled "Implementing tasks related to political education, student affairs, and training on ensuring security and order in educational institutions."

Attending and directing the conference were Deputy Minister of Education and Training Ngo Thi Minh, representatives from the Ministry of Public Security, and more than 500 delegates from universities, colleges, and Departments of Education and Training nationwide. Photo: My Ha

In his opening remarks at the conference, the Deputy MinisterMinistry of Education and TrainingNgo Thi Minh recalled the difficulties of the 2021-2022 school year in the context of the entire education sector having to organize teaching and learning under pandemic conditions.

During the past academic year, in its role, the Ministry of Education and Training advised on many important documents, including Decision No. 1895/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister promulgating the Program "Strengthening the education of revolutionary ideals, ethics, lifestyle and arousing the aspiration for contribution for youth, teenagers and children in the period 2021-2030"; Directive No. 08 on strengthening school culture, implementing the project on supporting student entrepreneurship... In addition, the Ministry has implemented many activities on drug prevention, crime prevention, and traffic safety.

However, according to the Deputy Minister of Education and Training, what has been achieved still does not meet the requirements set for the new phase, especially as the entire sector is currently implementing reforms in education and training.

In reality, there are still limitations during the implementation process, such as the situation...school violenceThe situation remains complex in some localities and educational institutions, negatively impacting the educational environment and causing anxiety and frustration among the public; the allocation of personnel for moral and lifestyle education has not received sufficient attention; inspection and supervision work; life skills education has not met the demands of reality; and the work of promoting, building, and replicating advanced models and exemplary practices has not been well organized and implemented.

Furthermore, the task of gathering information, guiding students' political ideology, ethics, lifestyle, and life skills, and ensuring a safe educational environment for students in cyberspace faces many difficulties in terms of human resources and finances to maintain; the updating, classification, and processing of information are still limited.

As the new academic year begins, the education of ethics and lifestyle for students must be emphasized. This should be closely aligned with the goal of helping students develop comprehensively in terms of morality, intellect, physical health, and aesthetics; prioritizing the education of basic skills and the development of personal abilities, dynamism, and creativity. The goal of higher education is to train students with high moral character, a sense of service to the people, and the practical skills and knowledge to perform their professions.

In the future, schools also need to pay attention to the learning environment to build a healthy, safe, and friendly environment that can fully develop the strengths of students, with the learner at the center.

Emphasizing the issue of safety, the Deputy Minister of Education and Training stated that schools must be environments free from accidents and injuries, fires and explosions, school violence, and drugs. To achieve this, effective communication is needed to prevent negative behaviors in schools, and exemplary role models should continue to be promoted to inspire determination and dedication.

During implementation, schools need to prioritize the education of students, listening to and understanding them in order to provide appropriate support. Simultaneously, they should continue to educate students on ethics, lifestyle, and life skills so that they have the ability to cope with situations and overcome pitfalls and temptations.

To effectively implement the above content, attention must also be paid to coordination with relevant ministries, departments, and socio-political organizations. The level of collaboration needs to become more professional, implementation better, and digitalization applied… to achieve greater effectiveness and truly delve deeper into the issue.

According to the plan, the conference will take place over two days, and delegates will hear presentations on several key issues related to political education and student affairs.

The Ministry of Public Security will implement a thematic program on ensuring internal political security for students in educational institutions and future solutions; some measures to prevent, detect, and handle risks of crime and violations of the law in cyberspace for the education sector; the current state of crime, and the issues arising in the work of preventing and combating crime and child abuse in educational institutions.
