On November 3, District 8 Police, Ho Chi Minh City, is coordinating with Binh Tan District Police to investigate and clarify the case of resisting law enforcement officers that occurred in Ward 16 (District 8) in the early morning of November 2.

According to initial information from the police, at around 4:45 a.m. on November 2, a patrol team of An Lac Ward Police (Binh Tan District) went on patrol to ensure security and order, and prevent crime in the area under their responsibility.

When the working group arrived at the intersection of Road No. 1 and Nam Hung Vuong Street (An Lac Ward), they discovered Nguyen Tuong Lam (33 years old, residing in Ward 7, District 3) and another young man (unknown background) riding a motorbike (unknown license plate) with suspicious signs. The working group signaled to stop the vehicle for inspection, but the two young men did not comply and sped away.

At this time, two police officers from An Lac ward (Mr. B. and Mr. P.) chased them on motorbikes. When Lam and the young man riding the motorbike arrived in front of a house (Ben Phu Dinh, Ward 16, District 8), both of them abandoned their motorbikes and ran on foot. A young man of unknown origin climbed over the roof of a house to escape, while Lam pulled out a Thai knife and fought back against the two police officers.

Seeing the danger, Mr. P. pulled out his gun and asked Lam to put down the knife, but Lam did not comply and fought back. During the scuffle, Mr. P.'s gun went off, hitting Lam's right thigh, injuring him. Lam was then taken to a hospital for treatment and is under strict police surveillance.

Upon checking Lam’s handbag, the police discovered two short wrenches and a hexagon (a tool used to break car locks) inside. Continuing to check the camera at a house near the intersection of Road No. 1 and Nam Hung Vuong Street, the police discovered that Lam and his accomplice had previously broken the rearview mirror of a car.
