Ky Son border district is located 300km from Vinh city. In addition to famous products such as taro, black chicken, Mong pig, and Ngong cabbage, this place is also famous for its dot trees. The last days of the lunar year are also the busiest time for dot harvesting in Ky Son district. |

This plant grows wild everywhere in Ky Son. After harvesting, people dry the bamboo shoots along the roads and vacant lots. Along National Highway 7A, about 30km long from Chieu Luu Commune to near Nam Can International Border Gate, people are drying bamboo shoots everywhere. Every year, Ky Son supplies the market with hundreds of tons of dried bamboo shoots. |

According to Ms. Xa Thi Giang - a bamboo trader in Ky Son district, the current price of bamboo is about 20,000 VND - 22,000 VND/1kg of dried bamboo. Freshly picked bamboo is only 1/4 of the price of dried bamboo. |

Most households along the national highway buy fresh bamboo shoots from people who go to the forest to pick them, dry them, and then import them wholesale to wholesalers. From here, bamboo shoots spread downstream and are transported to the north and south for consumption. |
