What does the US have against the Su-34?
If the F-35, F-22, F-16, F-14 against the Su-35, Su-30, Su-27 and Su-25. So how does the US counter the Russian Su-34 combat support aircraft?
Currently, the strength of the US Air Force is gradually slowing down, while Russia's strength is increasingly being consolidated, especially in the field of close-combat support fighters in military campaigns and long-range attacks.
Both the US and Russia possess very strong fighter aircraft forces, but currently the new US versions are quite modest, while Russia has launched a series of new generation fighter aircraft.

During the air campaign to destroy IS in Syria, Russia showed the world the terrifying power of the Su-34 fighter and bomber. To deal with this multi-purpose aircraft, the United States recalled the old A-10 “Thunderbolt” aircraft produced in the 70s of the last century.
The US has yet to create an aircraft to replace them, so according to some sources, the A-10 will continue to be equipped until 2028.

In close combat support, they have no worthy "colleagues". |
The US Air Force has long been criticized for not taking its close air support mission seriously, a task that has only gained attention since the Vietnam War.
In the 1970s, the US Air Force began researching and building new aircraft specialized in close combat and combat support missions.
The A-10 Thunderbolt is a powerful ground attack and direct air support aircraft of the United States.
This single-seat, twin-engine jet aircraft, manufactured by Fairchild-Republic for the United States Air Force, was intended for direct air support of ground troops by attacking tanks, armored vehicles, and other ground targets, as well as for use in interdiction attacks against enemy reinforcements.
This is the first US Air Force aircraft designed specifically for close air support missions.
It is equipped with a GAU-8 mobile cannon with a 30 mm six-barrel gun complex and laser-guided bombs, which are placed in containers with independent guidance systems JDAM (Joint direct Attack Munition), surface-to-air missiles and AGM-65 Maverick surface-to-surface tactical missiles.
During the first Gulf War in 1991, US A-10s destroyed 900 Iraqi tanks, 2,000 other transport equipment and 1,200 artillery pieces.
In recent conflicts this aircraft has become necessary to support the forces, however only the US and Russia possess this type of aircraft. The Russian Air Force has been equipped with one hundred new Su-34 aircraft with all the most modern combat and control technologies.
In particular, by 2022, according to plan, they will replace 100 modernized Su-25s and 150 modernized Su-24s, so their number will increase by 250 to 350. With this force, the strength of the Russian Air Force will be many times stronger than that of the US.
The sudden appearance of Russian air bases in Syria will further strengthen and enhance the power of the Russian Air Force, because the Su-34 has proven its combat capabilities in supporting the implementation of ground missions.
The aircraft is capable of simultaneously attacking high-altitude targets and approaching combat areas without fear of being attacked from the ground.
So to counter the Su-34, the US can only use the A-10 Thunderbolt, however the Su-34's power is completely superior to the A-10 Thunderbolt and the US will be quickly defeated.
Therefore, if the United States wants to maintain its position as the world's number one power, it must actively research, develop and create new types of aircraft to replace the aircraft from half a century ago.
