Phan School Male Student Won Silver Medal at International Physics Olympiad
(Baonghean.vn) - This year's exam was held online and together with the Vietnamese team, student Bui Thanh Tan brought home the Silver Medal for Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted.
The 2021 International Physics Olympiad, hosted by the Republic of Lithuania, will be held online. The competition was scheduled to be held in 2020, but was postponed to 2021 due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. This year's competition will be attended by 368 students from 76 delegations from countries and territories. For the Vietnamese delegation, the online competition will be held at Hanoi National University of Education.
The organization of online exams is also carried out according to the Olympic Exam regulations.Physicsinternational as direct exam. The theory exam consists of 3 tests, which are taken by candidates in 5 hours. The practical exam consists of 2 tests, which are taken by candidates in 5 hours.

At the end of the competition, all 5 Vietnamese students participating in the competition won medals, including 3 Gold Medals and 2 Silver Medals. Student Bui Thanh Tan - student of class 12A3,Phan Boi Chau High School for the Giftedhas excellently won the Silver Medal. Previously, Bui Thanh Tan was also the only candidate from Nghe An to win the National First Prize in Physics this school year and the National Second Prize in Excellent Students in Grade 11. He also won the Silver Medal at the Asia-Pacific Physics Olympiad.
According to medal rankings, Vietnam ranked 7th after South Korea, China, Russia, the US, Taiwan (China) and Romania.

Thus, this school year, students of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted have successfully completed regional and international Olympic competitions. Among them, there is 1 Gold Medal at the Asian Informatics Olympiad, 1 Silver Medal at the Asia-Pacific Physics Olympiad and 3 Silver Medals at the International Informatics and Physics Olympiads.
