Nam Tan (Nam Dan) receives Certificate of recognition for commune meeting new rural standards

Identifying economic development as the focus to create the premise to mobilize internal resources in building new rural areas, the Party Committee and the government of Nam Tan commune have focused on directing people to promote economic development on the basis of converting crop structure, effectively exploiting the strengths of the alluvial area, forming concentrated commodity production areas such as watermelon, carrots, potatoes, and commodity vegetables.

In addition, developing semi-industrial livestock farming, family farms, and ranches; maintaining and developing various types of commercial services... should improve people's lives.

Up to now, the average income per capita has reached 32.5 million VND/year, the poverty rate is only 3.83%. Accordingly, the mobilization of people's strength has been strongly promoted.

Along with taking advantage of programs, projects, support from all levels, sectors, businesses, and children living far from home, after more than 6 years of building a new rural area, Nam Tan has mobilized nearly 140 billion VND; of which people contributed nearly 98 billion VND, accounting for 70.2%. By the end of 2017, the commune completed 19/19 criteria and was recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as a commune meeting new rural standards.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Hoang Nghia Hieu - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief of the Office of New Rural Area Coordination of Nghe An province highly appreciated the efforts of the Party Committee and people of Nam Tan, and at the same time outlined the orientation for the commune to continue to improve the criteria in the coming time.

At the same time, promote agricultural mechanization, innovate production forms, apply and transfer scientific and technological advances, produce clean goods towards a concentrated commodity agriculture, create raw materials for processing, to promote agricultural production and rural economic development.

On this occasion, 4 collectives and 4 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Provincial People's Committee, 2 collectives and 2 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the District People's Committee; 2 collectives and 2 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Commune People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in the new rural construction movement./.
