As a mountainous commune, people's lives in Nam Dan district are still difficult. The population is not concentrated, mainly living scattered on the hillsides, so the construction of rural infrastructure projects faces many obstacles.
Identifying that difficulty, in recent times, the Party Committee and the government of Nam Thai commune have focused on leading and directing the people to apply scientific and technical advances in production with many models of specialized vegetable cultivation with high economic value, expanding secondary industries such as business, service production of goods from civil carpentry, construction materials, transportation, etc.
Thanks to that, people's living standards have been increasingly improved from 11.5 million VND (in 2010) to nearly 28 million VND/person/year, contributing to promoting socio-economic development with an average annual growth rate of 7-13%, the poverty rate is only below 5%.
Mobilizing people's strength was strongly aroused with 214 billion VND, people contributed over 130 billion VND, accounting for 60.6%, up to now, Nam Thai has completed 19/19 criteria for building new rural areas.
