On the evening of April 17, Vinh was riding his motorbike home and passed by his girlfriend's workplace. Standing on the side of the road, Vinh saw Pham Minh Chien (born in 1996, residing in District 8) sitting next to his girlfriend and pinching her cheeks several times, but she tried to avoid him.
Angry, Vinh went into the shop and told his girlfriend to go back to her room, but H said she could wait until after work. While the two were talking, Chien went to his motorbike and hit Vinh with his helmet.
Being attacked, Vinh pulled out a knife and stabbed Chien in the neck, causing him to collapse to the ground. The victim was quickly taken to the hospital but died shortly after. After committing the act, Vinh drove his girlfriend to a relative's house and threw the knife down the drain. However, the young man later walked to the police station to surrender.
