A suspect suspected of being high on drugs set fire to a coffee shop was caught on camera...

On the afternoon of December 5, Hiep Thanh Ward Police, Thu Dau Mot City (Binh Duong) detained Dao Van Lau (20 years old, residing in An Giang; temporarily residing in Hiep Thanh Ward, Thu Dau Mot City) to investigate and clarify the act of property destruction.

According to the police: At 3:00 a.m. on December 4, the "Knights" of Binh Duong received information that the thatched hut in the coffee shop in alley 48 (Hiep Thanh ward) was burned down, so they reported it to the police.

After investigating the cause and identifying the perpetrator of the hut burning through security cameras, Hiep Thanh Ward Police together with "Knights" Nguyen Thanh Hai, Nguyen Hoang Trung Hieu, Duong Tai, and Nguyen Hoang Nam organized a search for the perpetrator of the fire.

At 1:30 p.m. the same day, Lau was found resting on a stone bench in Hiep Thanh 3 ward, with a body shape similar to the one recorded by the camera at the coffee shop, so he was invited to the police headquarters for questioning.

Lau confessed that he had never known or had any conflicts with the coffee shop owner, but that he had “impulsively” set fire to the hut. Initial assessment was that Lau may have been high on drugs and burned down the shop.
