(Baonghean.vn) - In 2020, the Court sector strives to speed up the progress and improve the quality of handling and adjudicating all types of cases to ensure the right person, right crime, and right law; minimizing the number of court judgments and decisions being amended or annulled.

On the morning of January 10, the People's Court of Nghe An province held a conference to deploy work in 2020. In 2019, the People's Courts at two levels in the province accepted 12,290 cases of all kinds, resolved 11,999 cases, reaching a rate of 98%. Of which, the types of cases: accepted 10,743 cases, resolved 10,452 cases, a rate of 97.2%; applied administrative measures to 1,547/1,547 cases, reaching a rate of 100%.
Although the number of cases to be resolved increased and the nature of the cases became increasingly complicated, the quality of the trials continued to improve. Criminal cases were resolved and tried in accordance with the law; there were no wrongful convictions or missed crimes. Of which, the first instance trial tried and resolved 2,735 cases/4,628 defendants, reaching a rate of 99%; the appeal trial tried and resolved 318 cases/429 defendants, reaching a rate of 99%.

In resolving and adjudicating civil cases, the Courts focus on mediation in litigation, creating conditions for the parties to reach an agreement on dispute resolution, reaching a rate of 70.5%, equivalent to 5,526 cases/7,689 cases. This is an effective measure to resolve cases quickly, saving time and money for the litigation agencies and the people.
Along with that, the quality of the staff and judges has been improved in terms of qualifications, professional expertise, and qualities, ethics, and lifestyle, meeting the requirements. Speaking at the conference, Major General Duong Van Thang - Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court, Chief Justice of the Central Military Court praised the efforts of officials, civil servants and employees of the People's Courts at two levels in adjudicating and resolving all types of cases; contributing to maintaining political security, social order and safety and socio-economic development of the locality.
Based on the 2020 work plan, he requested that officials and civil servants of the Court sector continue to promote the spirit of "responsibility, discipline, for justice", closely follow the Party's guidelines, the State's legal policies and the direction of the Supreme People's Court to advise the Party Committee to effectively lead and direct judicial work and judicial reform in the province.

On this occasion, Nghe An Provincial People's Court was honored to receive the Emulation Flag of the Prime Minister, the Emulation Flag of the People's Court; many collectives and individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court and the Provincial People's Committee.
