Over the years, Song Hieu Agricultural and Forestry Products Processing Enterprise ( thuộc Song Hieu Forestry and Agriculture Company Limited) has invested in modern machinery and technology, improving the quality of wood products exported to the US - a "demanding" market.
In recent times, Song Hieu Agricultural and Forestry Products Processing Enterprise (Thai Hoa town) has faced numerous difficulties. At times, processed wood products were difficult to sell, resulting in significant inventory buildup due to export restrictions imposed by other countries, forcing the factory to operate at a reduced capacity. However, with considerable effort, the unit has gradually overcome these challenges.
Mr. Ho Duc Dan, Director of Song Hieu Agricultural and Forestry Products Processing Enterprise, said: Facing difficulties and challenges, the unit has proactively sought ways to adapt, diversify markets, and find orders to stabilize revenue. The unit has invested tens of billions of VND in upgrading technology and machinery; putting into operation a steam drying system to replace the heat drying system.
Simultaneously, investments were made to upgrade the technology of the manual wood gluing production line to a semi-automatic system, creating high-quality products that meet export standards. Thanks to this investment in modern technology, the company has enhanced its competitiveness, optimized production processes, minimized technical errors, increased efficiency, and reduced production costs, resulting in lower product prices.
To date, the unit produces and sells over 150m³ per month.3Laminated timber, over 50,000 tons of wood chips. Wood products bearing the "Song Hieu Forestry and Agriculture" brand are highly favored by foreign markets, especially the US market. Businesses have proactively collaborated with foreign customers, producing new designs under their own brands to capture target markets.
The unit has the advantage of being able to proactively secure a supply of acacia wood raw materials for processing. Currently, the unit has over 1,700 hectares of large-timber plantations, harvesting 200 hectares annually that meet standards. The enterprise has also invested tens of billions of VND in maintaining and constructing over 250km of access roads to facilitate planting, caring for, and harvesting.
The advantage of large-timber plantations is that they produce high-quality timber, with productivity and revenue twice as high as that of raw material plantations. Large-timber forests are multi-purpose, from sawn timber and laminated wood to branches and twigs used for chipping.
Thanks to its efficient operations, since the beginning of 2024, all wood processing products produced by Song Hieu Agricultural and Forestry Products Processing Enterprise have been exported. The unit has created jobs for over 60 workers with stable incomes.
To date, the unit continues to develop its large timber resources in a sustainable manner, improve the quality of its workforce, and adhere to international standards in order to find ways to export wood products to other demanding markets.
