In 2017, the Nghe An Border Guard Command had a change in the unit's leadership, but the Provincial Border Guard Party Committee and the district and town Party Committees led, directed, thoroughly implemented the policies and tasks of national defense and security, well performed the management and protection of border and sea sovereignty and did well in foreign affairs with Laos, focused on propaganda on protecting border and sea sovereignty and security, border regulations and agreements, well implemented the project to strengthen the dissemination of legal education for officials and people in border and island areas, and prevent illegal migration...

The Border Guard forces coordinate with local forces and patrol units to protect border security and sovereignty, sea areas, and effectively combat all types of crime.

During the year, 169 guns of various types were recovered, 39 cases/43 subjects were arrested and processed, 1,668 synthetic drug pills, 69.93 grams of heroin, 20.8 grams of crystal meth, 4.9 grams of opium were seized. 2 special cases were successfully fought, 5 subjects were arrested, 77 heroin cakes, 2 cars, 300 USD and many other related exhibits were seized.

After one year of implementing Directive 01 of the Prime Minister on "Organizing the movement of all people participating in protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security in the new situation", localities on the two border lines have established 91 border marker self-management teams, 716 security and order self-management teams, 15 safe wharf teams; 59 boat teams...

In addition, 26 commune-level cadres and 60 party members were temporarily transferred to the Party cells in the religious areas, and 136 party members were recruited, and 218 party organizations and 117 mass organizations were built and consolidated. Thanks to that, the quality of party activities and movements to build stable hamlets and villages in terms of political security, economic and social development have been increasingly improved, with practical results.

In their speeches at the conference, delegates from districts and towns also highlighted the results achieved, and proposed solutions and directions to overcome existing limitations in the coming time so that coordination work can be increasingly more effective.

Speaking at the conference, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council highly appreciated the effective coordination between the Provincial Border Guard Party Committee and the border and coastal districts and towns; effectively implementing the coordination to create a combined strength; the contents that need to be built have been raised, the contents that need to be fought have been done well, the districts and towns have actively and proactively coordinated with the Border Guard force in performing the task of protecting the sovereignty and security of the border in the province. Thereby contributing to the Party Committee, government and people of the province to complete the socio-economic targets in 2017.

Regarding the tasks in 2018, comrade Nguyen Xuan Son requested that in the coming time, in addition to promoting the achieved results, the district and town Party Committees and the provincial Border Guard force need to have a specific coordination plan to perform the tasks well, grasp information, propagate and mobilize to build practical models for people to learn and follow, take care of building the Border Guard force, innovate the method of operation to build political bases in special areas, and do a good job of foreign affairs on both sides of the border. He also hoped that after the conference, there would be new contents and new experiences for the Border Guard force and the district and town Party Committees to complete the assigned political tasks.
