Improving the effectiveness of state management on gender equality

(Baonghean.vn) – On the morning of July 15, the Provincial Committee for the Advancement of Women organized a training course on implementing the national strategy and program on gender equality for the period 2016 – 2020.

Attending the training were leaders of the Provincial Committee for the Advancement of Women and trainees who are female delegates of the District People's Council for the 2016-2021 term.

At the training session, trainees were updated with information on the current situation and solutions for female cadre work in the whole province; disseminated strategies and national programs on gender equality in Nghe An province for the period 2016 - 2020, and gender mainstreaming in the development of legal documents...

Accordingly, the plan to implement the national strategy on gender equality in the province sets out 7 basic goals: Increasing women's participation in leadership and management positions, gradually reducing the gender gap in the political field; reducing the gender gap in the economic, labor and employment fields, increasing access of poor women in rural areas and ethnic minority women to economic resources and the labor market; Improving the quality of female human resources; Ensuring gender equality in accessing and enjoying health care services; Ensuring gender equality in family life, gradually eliminating gender-based violence; Improving state management capacity on gender equality.

The training program is of great significance, aiming to raise awareness of gender equality, thereby spreading awareness in the community, contributing to the completion of the goals in the national strategic plan in the province.
