Improving capacity and skills in performing public duties for provincial civil servants

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 28, the Department of Home Affairs coordinated with the Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee and Nghe An Political School to organize the opening ceremony of a training course to improve the capacity and skills of public service performance for provincial-level civil servants.

Comrade Ho Duc Phoc attended and delivered an important speech. Attending the opening ceremony were comrades Cao Thi Hien - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Director of the Department of Home Affairs; Nguyen Thanh Hien - Principal of the Provincial Political School; Le Quoc Khanh - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Organization Committee, and representatives of a number of provincial departments, branches and sectors.

The training course to improve capacity and skills in performing public duties attracted nearly 200 cadres and civil servants from all over the province to participate. Through the training course, cadres and civil servants are equipped with knowledge, capacity and skills in performing public duties, focusing on training soft skills such as policy advisory skills, planning and implementation skills, situation handling skills, management skills, teamwork skills, presentation skills, communication skills, and raising awareness of discipline.

From there, build a team of cadres, civil servants and public employees with political courage, scientific and professional attitudes, skills and working style, respecting public ethics, meeting the requirements of integration and development.

During the 3 days, from October 28 to 30, students will be exposed to 5 major topics, including: Some basic theoretical issues on state administrative procedures; public service ethics; skills;planning and assignment and coordination skills in public service activities; evaluation of public service performance in state agencies; office culture and communication skills.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, comrade Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, emphasized: The development requirements for the next 5 years of Nghe An with the goal of becoming the economic - social center of the North Central region, a fairly developed province in the Northern region. Especially, when we are in the process of deep integration, it requires capacity, thinking, including customs and behavioral culture among the staff and civil servants to be adjusted to meet international practices.

Therefore, in addition to the knowledge that the staff and civil servants are trained in, they also need to self-study and self-improve, contributing to improving their capacity and qualifications, especially "soft" skills, sense of responsibility, dedication, and wholeheartedness in serving businesses and people, contributing to the completion of the goals set forth by the Resolution of the 18th Provincial Party Congress.
