Russia thwarts Ukrainian secret service terrorist plot on nuclear power plants
Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) has prevented a terrorist attack on the Leningrad and Kalinin nuclear power plants planned by Ukrainian special services on Victory Day, the agency said.
"The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation has prevented a terrorist attack on nuclear power facilities planned by Ukrainian special services," the document reads.

On the eve of Victory Day, a sabotage and terrorist group of the Ukrainian Foreign Intelligence Service "attempted to sabotage more than 30 high-voltage pylons of the Leningrad and Kalinin nuclear power plants," the FSB said.
Ukrainian special services want to stop nuclear reactors and disrupt the normal operation of nuclear power plants in order to cause "serious economic and reputational damage to the Russian Federation."
Three Ukrainian saboteurs arrested
“The terrorists blew up one pillar and mined four other pillars of the Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant’s power line and placed improvised explosive devices under seven pillars of the Kalinin Nuclear Power Plant,” the FSB added.
The agency arrested three Ukrainian saboteurs and two Russian accomplices.
