Russia uses S-400s in Türkiye to collect data on F-35s
The transfer of Russian S-400 air defense systems to Türkiye will have a detrimental impact on the US F-35 fifth-generation fighter jet program, as it will allow Russia to collect intelligence on the aircraft, Pentagon Assistant Secretary Katherine Wilbarger said.

“This delivery will have a detrimental impact not only on the F-35 program... This will disrupt Türkiye's interoperability with NATO - this is a key aspect of the defense alliance,” Wilmarg said in a speech at the Atlantic Council in Washington.
"Let's be frank, the S-400 is a Russian system designed to shoot down aircraft like the F-35. And, of course, it is inconceivable that Russia would not use the opportunity to collect intelligence," the assistant head of the Pentagon added.
According to her, from this perspective, the transfer of S-400 systems to Türkiye represents a "big challenge" for the United States.
