According to initial information, at around 8:00 p.m. on August 24, while playing near a wood stove, Ven Van Nam, a 14-year-old Kho Mu ethnic minority (Nhan Ly village, Ta Ca commune, Ky Son district) fell into a burning wood stove.
At the time of the incident, Nam’s father, Mr. Ven Van Mau, was not at home. Nam, who suffers from epilepsy, lost control and fell and lay motionless on the burning wood stove.
Because no one was home, Nam was not rescued immediately. After being discovered by a villager, he was taken to Ta Ca medical station by Nhan Ly village chief and local militiamen for first aid and then transferred directly to Ky Son district hospital.

Realizing that Nam had suffered severe burns all over his face, at 5am on August 26, he was transferred to the Provincial General Hospital. According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Le, Head of Quang Minh Volunteer Club, who is Nam's guardian, Nam has lost one eye completely, the other eye is in a state of severe burns, and his lungs are also quite severely affected.
Nam is currently being transferred to the National Institute of Burns.
It is known that Nam's family is poor, his mother left more than 6 years ago and there has been no news. Nam's father, Mr. Ven Van Mau, is 68 years old this year and in poor health. Nam's family lives mainly on farming like many other families in this village.
In addition to epilepsy, Nam also suffered from bleeding in his limbs and had been treated for a long time at the Provincial General Hospital. After his condition improved, the volunteer club asked to take him home for treatment, but unfortunately the unfortunate accident happened.
