Russia calls for UN Security Council meeting on Western arms supplies to Ukraine
Moscow has requested a meeting of the UN Security Council to discuss the issue of Western arms supplies to Kiev, Dmitry Polyansky, Russia's first deputy permanent representative to the organization, said.
"We have requested a meeting on September 12 on the supply of Western weapons to Ukraine and other factors that negatively affect the prospects for resolving the crisis in Ukraine and related issues," the diplomat said.
According to him, Russia will try to choose a worthy speaker to report on this topic.

"The lack of translation of the opinions of Western experts/journalists who wish to speak on this topic is starting to worry our opponents - yesterday there was a manifestation of a breakdown of spirit on this topic during the meeting on the working methods of the Security Council," Deputy Ambassador Polyansky added.
Keep the conflict going
Western countries supplying weapons do not give Ukraine a real advantage on the battlefield, but rather allow it to continue hostilities, the supply of F-16 fighters to Kiev is another factor in raising the bar on the part of the United States. This was told by expert of the Russian Institute of International Political and Humanitarian Studies Vladimir Bruter to Sputnik.
Previously, the British magazine Economist reported that Russian fighters equipped with more advanced radars would be a threat to US F-16 fighters that can fire short-range missiles.
“The transfer of weapons does not give Ukraine any real advantage on the battlefield, but allows the fighting to continue,” said Vladimir Bruter.
