Admire the innocence of the 1st Runner-up of Miss Vietnam Student
Radiant in traditional ao dai, Ngo Thi Mai Phuong - 1st runner-up of Miss Vietnamese Students 2016 captured innocent moments to say goodbye to her beautiful student days.
Ngo Thi Mai Phuong (1997) is currently a 4th year student, Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. In 2016, Mai Phuong won the title of 1st Runner-up Miss Vietnam Student and 2nd Runner-up Miss Hanoi Photo. This yearbook photo album was inspired by the beauty of Hanoi women in the early autumn sunshine.
Since winning the title of Miss Runner-up, Phuong has had many opportunities to participate in social activities. She also received many invitations to participate in photo shoots and commercials. Currently, in addition to studying, Mai Phuong also works as an MC and collaborates with a number of television stations. Phuong plans to pursue a career as a professional MC after graduation.
Phuong has received many invitations to participate in movies but has refused them all. She believes that the current time is not suitable for her to enter showbiz. Success only comes when she truly loves with all her heart and is ready to face its negative aspects.
“Once you enter showbiz, you will be a public figure, receiving a lot of attention, and sometimes you won’t be able to live the way you want. Right now, I’m very afraid of that, so I haven’t dared to accept,” Phuong said.
Phuong herself has also received many indecent proposals via text messages and on Facebook. “At first I was quite shocked, but after calming down, I politely refused or ignored them.”
Sharing her views on modern women, Mai Phuong believes that modern women need to be gentle and courageous at the right time, independent and confident. Women can completely stand on their own two feet without having to rely on anyone else. In addition, women need to know how to make themselves more beautiful every day. This is also one of the biggest pressures that women need to maintain because beauty is a "powerful weapon" of women.
“Eastern people always consider women as the weaker sex, so they think it is difficult for women to achieve great success. However, with their ingenuity, intelligence and courage, many women in modern times have succeeded on the path they have chosen.”
The woman Phuong idolizes is businesswoman Mary Barra, CEO of General Motors. “She is arguably one of the most influential businesswomen in the world. She is the clearest proof of one truth: Women can succeed in any field if that is what they want.”
