Nghe An education sector proposes to vaccinate more than 300,000 students in the province

Morning of October 28,Department of Education and Traininghas just sent a document to Nghe An Department of Health requesting coordination to advise on organizing Covid-19 vaccination for students in the whole province.
Accordingly, to contribute to ensuring safety for students going to school, adapting to the complex and unpredictable developments of theCovid-19 epidemicThe Department of Education and Training requested the Nghe An Department of Health to advise on policies and have a plan to vaccinate students in Nghe An from 12 to 18 years old, according to the instructions of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education and Training.

The implementationvaccinationfor students also aims to implement Official Dispatch No. 7899/UBND-VX dated October 19, 2021 of the Provincial People's Committee on the implementation of Notice No. 267/TB-VPCP dated October 15 of the Government Office on the announcement of the conclusion of Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam at the meeting on the implementation of tasks at the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year.
Currently, according to the Department of Education and Training, through statistics, the whole province has 308,534 students from 12 to 18 years old, of which the number of students in secondary school is 197,717 and students in high school is 110,817. Vinh city is the locality with the largest number of students reviewed with nearly 35,000 students.

Previously, at the meeting of the Ministry of Health, the Minister of Health also said: From November 2021, the Covid-19 vaccination campaign for children will be organized nationwide with the Comirnaty vaccine produced by Pfizer-BioNTech of the US and this is a vaccine that ensures safety for children. Covid-19 vaccination for children will be carried out first in localities that have undergone social distancing, have a high rate of SARS-CoV-2 infection; localities with high population density, high risk of infection.
At this time, Ho Chi Minh City is the first locality to pilot Covid-19 vaccination for students.
