Information and Communications industry proactively responds to integration requirements

On the morning of August 20, the Department of Information and Communications held a ceremony to celebrate the Traditional Day of the Information and Communications Industry on August 28.

Attending the ceremony were comrades: Ho Phuc Hop - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Le Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Ho Quang Thanh - Director of the Department of Information and Communications and representatives of relevant departments, branches, sectors and units.

Overview of the Celebration.

Comrade Ho Quang Thanh - Director of the Department of Information and Communications called on the Information and Communications sector of Nghe An to actively strive, improve professional expertise, proactively integrate, and make positive contributions to the socio-economic development of the province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Director of the Department of Information and Communications Ho Quang Thanh affirmed that through historical periods, the Information and Communications sector has rapidly matured in terms of expertise and political mettle.

From 2006 to present, along with the whole country, Nghe An Information and Communication industry has continuously achieved achievements in the fields of post, telecommunications, information technology, press, publishing, creating new momentum for socio-economic development and meeting the requirements of international integration.

Agencies and units operating in the industry in Nghe An currently include 7 provincial press units, 43 representative and resident offices of central and industry newspapers; 15 news bulletins, 21 district-level radio and television stations and the province's electronic information portal; printing and publishing enterprises equipped with modern facilities, publishing 5.3 million copies of books, being one of the 5 printing points in the country.

Postal, telecommunications and IT enterprises achieved revenue of about 3,600 billion VND/year and increased the number of telephone subscribers to 138 subscribers/100 people; 1,906 BTS stations; 730 internet agents; 404 commune cultural post offices; 7,700 official email accounts...

The Department of Information and Communications organized the exhibition "Uncle Ho with the National Assembly and People's Council" in May 2016.

At the ceremony, delegates affirmed their determination to strive to rise up, take advantage of opportunities, overcome challenges to continue to innovate, develop, and successfully implement the acceleration strategy "to soon turn Vietnam into a strong country in information technology and communications". Accordingly, they will focus on implementing well the 6 basic tasks of the industry, worthy of the noble awards that the Party and State have bestowed.

Nghe An Newspaper received the title of Labor Hero in the renovation period.

Comrade Le Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee delivered a congratulatory speech on the traditional day of the Information and Communications sector.

At the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Hoa acknowledged and praised the contributions of the Information and Communications sector to the socio-economic development of the province in recent times. He also hoped that the agencies and units of the sector would continue to strive to turn Nghe An from a province with a high readiness index in information technology application to one of the top provinces in information technology application in the country, contributing to helping the province become an economic and cultural center of the North Central region.
