On August 17, 14 new cases of Covid-19 were reported, of which Da Nang and Hai Duong had 11 cases.
The National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control said that on August 17, 14 new Covid-19 cases were recorded, including 11 cases in the community, including 6 cases in Da Nang, 5 cases in Hai Duong, 1 case in Hanoi, 1 case in Quang Nam and 1 case quarantined immediately after entering the country. Vietnam has 976 Covid-19 patients.
Number of cases in Vietnam:
- As of 6:00 p.m. on August 17: Vietnam has a total of 639 Covid-19 cases due to domestic infection.
- Number of new cases related to Da Nang from July 25 to present: 499 cases recorded.
- As of August 17: 14 new cases, including 1 imported case that was quarantined immediately.
PATIENT 963, male, 30 years old, Tan Binh, Hai Duong city.On August 3, he had dinner at the Fresh Beef World restaurant in Pham Ngu Lao ward, Hai Duong. This restaurant was later identified as a Covid-19 outbreak with 4 employees infected.
On August 15, his sample was taken, and the test result on August 16 was positive for nCoV. Thus, this is the 5th patient in Hai Duong, related to this restaurant. In addition, "patient 867" tested positive in Hanoi on August 12, and was determined to have possibly been infected from the Fresh Beef World restaurant.
PATIENT 964, female, 49 years old, Tam Ky, Quang Nam.On July 11, she attended a wedding in Duy Tan, Da Nang. On August 15, her sample was taken, and the test result on August 16 was positive for nCoV.
CASES 956-968 AND 974-975 (BN965-968 and BN974-975) in Da Nang:Age from 33-59 years old, including: 3 cases are patient's relatives, 1 case is medical staff at Da Nang Hospital, 1 case is security guard at Da Nang Hospital, 1 case in Thanh Khe district, Da Nang (continuing investigation).

PATIENTS 970-973 (BN970-973) in Hai Duong:Aged 13 - 41 years old, related to the outbreak on Ngo Quyen Street, Hai Duong (5 cases were previously recorded at this outbreak). The patient is currently isolated and treated at the Hai Duong Provincial Hospital for Tropical Diseases.
CASE 976 (BN976) was quarantined immediately after entering Hanoi:Male patient, 42 years old, with address in Thach Son, Thach Thanh, Thanh Hoa.
On July 29, 2020, the patient returned to Noi Bai Airport from Equatorial Guinea on flight VN6 and was quarantined and treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases, branch 1 (Dong Anh).
After the third test, the result was positive for SARS-CoV-2 virus.
