'Ideology Day' - practical approach in Yen Thanh

(Baonghean) - From practical and grassroots approaches, the implementation of ideological work in Yen Thanh has brought about practical results, being a step "a step ahead" to create exciting and effective emulation movements.

Exciting "Ideology Day"

Recognizing the importance of political and ideological work in managing and leading the people and grassroots party organizations to operate in accordance with the set goals and orientations, the Standing Committee of Yen Thanh District Party Committee determined that leaders and key cadres must be the leading force and set the first example.

Propaganda work, political and ideological work, and social opinion orientation are taken seriously and implemented by Party committees and the entire political system from district to grassroots level, starting with the team of Party members and cadres.

In Nam Thanh commune, the Party Committee of Nam Thanh commune has thoroughly informed all hamlet Party cells to regularly carry out Party cell activities in accordance with regulations; organize meetings of all levels and branches in a full, quality and effective manner; thoroughly disseminate and study programs and resolutions at all levels; monthly evaluate the implementation of resolutions and set out tasks for the following month.

In 2017, Nam Thanh commune organized 16 executive committee meetings, 14 standing committee meetings, and dozens of meetings at different levels and sectors. Comrade Phan The Trung - Secretary of the Party Committee of Nam Thanh commune said: “The important highlight in implementing political and ideological work is to improve the quality of Party cell activities. All requirements and tasks of Party members must be imbued with and implemented exemplary first, then spread to the masses. Therefore, Nam Thanh has issued a resolution on improving the quality of Party cell activities and regularly inspects and evaluates the implementation of this resolution”.

Similarly, many other communes in Yen Thanh district also identified improving the quality of Party cell activities as one of the important measures to effectively carry out political and ideological work.

In addition, localities in Yen Thanh have focused on strengthening the ideological work team at the grassroots level, especially the propaganda team in the communes, and training grassroots reporters to provide information and promptly grasp ideas and orient public opinion.

In addition to regularly holding a monthly reporter conference on the 28th, every quarter we also organize an "Ideology Day" to directly listen to and answer all questions as well as promptly orientate thoughts and public opinion on issues arising in life, creating high consensus in society through dialogue and evaluation of the implementation of key tasks of the month.

To implement the “Ideology Day” in the communes, participants include Party committees, leaders of mass organizations, Party cell secretaries, hamlet chiefs, and some localities also invite heads of inter-family groups to attend. The steps to implement the “Ideology Day” include reporting on the results of implementation, resolving the contents concluded at the “Ideology Day” of the previous month; reporting on the results of the month’s task implementation.

After that, the participating members will question, give comments, evaluate what has been done, what has not been done, what needs to be resolved immediately... After discussing, the office will issue a notice concluding the meeting content and the issues to be resolved during the month. Most of the commune party committees in Yen Thanh district regularly hold "Ideology Day" every month, only a few special units hold it once a quarter.

Focus on thoroughly understanding the resolution and fostering knowledge

In addition, Yen Thanh district also implemented the shift from listening to learning in the implementation of Party directives and resolutions. Accordingly, each Party member participating in studying the resolution is required to have a notebook issued according to the form for taking notes. During the study sessions, the organizers will take attendance by ballot, after taking notes, the students will discuss the content and write a summary.

The grading and commenting of the reports as well as the evaluation of the effectiveness of the participation of each cadre, party member and each grassroots party organization are also carried out seriously. Cases of absence or absence from class must be explained to the organizing committee and the Party Committee; if the explanation is not reasonable, it will be transferred to the inspection for signs of violations.

It can be said that the strict management and effective implementation of the study of directives and resolutions that Yen Thanh district has implemented for many years has contributed positively to the political and ideological education of cadres and party members, strengthened the consolidation of grassroots party organizations and spread to all classes of people; contributing to the completion of the set goals in political and ideological work.

Another effective measure that Yen Thanh district has taken recently to improve the quality of political and ideological education is to regularly organize knowledge training courses. For example, in January 2017, the district successfully conducted a national defense and security training course for religious officials in the district with 58 officials participating.

The district also opened 18 political training classes for managers, teachers and staff of schools in the district with two topics: "Fighting against erroneous and hostile information and viewpoints in the field of ideology and culture", "Implementing Directive 05/CT-TW and building Nghe An people".

And currently, the District Veterans Association is implementing the topic "Implementing Directive 05/CT-TW and building Nghe An people" for members throughout the district. In addition, Yen Thanh district also directs to increase the effectiveness of reading and using Party newspapers and magazines to Party cells and Party members. Specifically, grassroots Party organizations maintain regular reading of newspapers at the beginning of the week and synthesize information from the press to serve the content of "Ideology Day".

To continue promoting and improving the effectiveness of political and ideological education in the district, comrade Nguyen Khac De - Head of the Propaganda Department of Yen Thanh District Party Committee said: "In addition to maintaining the measures that have been implemented so far, in the coming time, the district will continue to deploy a number of new solutions with the motto of being close and suitable to the grassroots. In particular, focusing on researching public opinion, forecasting the situation, promptly detecting emerging issues to proactively advise and promptly handle and prevent the emergence of hot spots and sensitive incidents".
