On September 8, the government and family held a funeral for Luong Van Kim (born in 1985, residing in Nam Son commune, Quy Hop district). Kim died from a bee sting the day before.

On the afternoon of September 7, Mr. Luong Van Kim and three other men living in Quang village, Nam Son commune, Quy Hop district went into the forest to collect firewood. The group discovered a beehive so they cleared the bushes, and burned the nest to collect the pupae at night.
While Mr. Kim was cutting trees, he was attacked by a swarm of bees. The three people who were with him ran away, but returned a while later to find Mr. Kim's whole body was purple. He later died on the way to the emergency room.
It is known that Mr. Kim's family is poor, has 2 children and his wife is currently pregnant with their third child.
