Nghe An: 5 craft village products are protected by collective trademarks
(Baonghean.vn) - Craft villages in Nghe An are increasing in number and gradually developing in depth with many unique products. Up to now, the whole province has146 craft villages, including 5 Craft Village products that have been granted collective trademark protection by the Department of Intellectual Property.

Five Craft Village products of Nghe An province have been granted collective trademark protection by the Intellectual Property Office, including: Cua Tile Craft Village, Nghia Hoan Commune (Tan Ky); Phu Loi Seafood Processing Craft Village, Quynh Di Ward (Hoang Mai Town); Seafood Processing and Preservation Craft Village, Block 6, Nghi Tan Ward (Cua Lo Town); Incense Craft Village, Tan Lac Town (Quy Chau); Fish Sauce Processing Craft Village, Block Hai Giang I, Nghi Hai Ward (Cua Lo Town).
In addition, there are 4 craft village products that have applied to the Intellectual Property Office to register for collective trademark protection, including: Gang Sugarcane Molasses Craft Village, Nghia Hung Commune (Nghia Dan); Tan An Seafood Processing Craft Village, An Hoa Commune (Quynh Luu); Vinh Duc Rice Paper and Peanut Candy Craft Village, Do Luong District Town; Block 7 Seafood Processing Craft Village, Nghi Thuy Ward (Cua Lo Town). The remaining craft villages are striving to improve the quality of their products to apply for collective trademark protection.

Mr. Tran Van Chuong - Vice Chairman of Nghe An Cooperative Union affirmed: The fact that craft villages are granted intellectual property registration for geographical indications and collective trademarks helps to increase the value of products, promoting craft villages to develop more effectively and sustainably. However, localities need to pay more attention to this issue so that in the following years, more craft village products will be protected by collective trademarks.
The production value of craft villages in Nghe An reached 1,600 billion VND (in 2016). Developing production in craft villages creates regular jobs for nearly 20,000 local workers. |
