(Baonghean.vn) - Initially, the two subjects confessed that the goods on the vehicle were 7 tigers transported from Huong Son (Ha Tinh) to Nghe An for consumption.

Implementing the direction of the Provincial Police Director, Major General Pham The Tung and Deputy Director, Head of the Provincial Police Investigation Agency Nguyen Duc Hai, the Provincial Police Environmental Police Department has just chaired and coordinated withDien Chau Traffic Police Station, under the Provincial Police Traffic Police Department, successfully broke up a case, arresting 2 subjects transporting 7 tiger cubs.

Specifically, at around 2:00 a.m. on August 1, through professional verification measures, collecting related records and documents, Team 3 of the Environmental Police Department, Nghe An Provincial Police determined that there were 2 subjects driving a 7-seat car, painted white, with license plate 37A - 032.58, illegally transporting a number of wild animals (tigers) without paperwork from Huong Son town, Huong Son district (Ha Tinh) through Nghe An for consumption.

At 4:00 a.m. the same day, the working group of the Environmental Police Department and the Provincial Traffic Police Department deployed to organize an arrest at Km 421+200 National Highway 1A in Dien Ky commune, Dien Chau district.

During the arrest, the subject used many tricks to drive erratically, obstruct and crash into the pursuing police vehicle in an attempt to escape.

But with determination, cleverness, intelligence, and courage, the task force successfully arrested two subjects: Tran Trung Hieu (born in 1984, driver, residing in residential group 3, Tay Son town, Huong Son district, Ha Tinh province), Nguyen Van Lai (born in 1967, freelance worker, residing in Khi Tuong village, Son Tay commune, Huong Son district, Ha Tinh province). The seized evidence was 7 live tigers with a total weight of about 33kg.

Initially, the two subjects confessed that the above mentioned tiger cubs were contained in 4 plastic baskets of various types and had no documents proving their legal origin, and were transported from Huong Son (Ha Tinh) to Nghe An for consumption.

Currently, 7 tigers have been handed over by the Environmental Police Department to the Wildlife Rescue Center, Pu Mat National Park.
