Nghe An: Summoned by police for posting 'company has F0 but hides' on Facebook

(Baonghean.vn) - Another case faces punishment for posting false information related to the Covid-19 epidemic on Facebook.

On August 30, the provincial police summoned Lu Thi Hang (26 years old, residing in Chau Hanh commune, Quy Chau), for posting false information about the Covid-19 epidemic on her personal Facebook.

Meanwhile, according to verification by Vinh Tan Ward Police, Em-Tech Vietnam Company in Nghe An, located in Block 2 (Vinh Tan Ward, Vinh City), has more than 2,000 workers, and has not recorded any cases of Covid-19 infection so far. The company is still operating normally. However, the content Hang posted has caused many workers to feel confused.

Currently, the police are completing the documents and processing them according to regulations.

Recently, a series of cases in Nghe An were summoned and punished for posting or sharing false information about the Covid-19 epidemic on social networks.

Authorities have repeatedly requested that Facebook users, when posting information in general and information about the Covid-19 epidemic in particular on their personal Facebook pages, must comply with the Code of Conduct on social networks issued together with Decision No. 874/QD-BTTTT dated June 17, 2021 of the Ministry of Information and Communications. At the same time, only post information that has been verified by individuals and units with the authority to speak. Or post information about the Covid-19 epidemic based on citing sources from addresses such as: Nghe An Electronic Information Portal; Department of Health Electronic Information Portal; Nghe An Newspaper; Nghe An Television Station; Fanpage "News on Covid-19 Prevention and Control in Nghe An Province" of the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control in Nghe An Province at https://Facebook.com/sttttna.

Article 101 of Decree 15/2020/ND-CP stipulating administrative sanctions for violations in the fields of post, telecommunications, radio frequencies, information technology and electronic transactions clearly states:
- A fine of 10,000,000 VND to 20,000,000 VND shall be imposed for taking advantage of social networks to commit one of the following acts:
a) Providing or sharing fake information, false information, distorting, slandering, or insulting the reputation of an agency, organization, or the honor or dignity of an individual;
b) Providing and sharing information that promotes bad customs, superstition, obscenity, depravity, and is inconsistent with the nation's traditions and customs;
c) Providing and sharing detailed information describing acts of slashing, killing, accidents, horror, and horror;
d) Providing or sharing fabricated information, causing panic among the people, inciting violence, crime, social evils, gambling or serving gambling;
d) Providing or sharing press, literary, artistic works and publications without the consent of the intellectual property owner or without permission for circulation or with a decision to prohibit circulation or confiscate;
e) Advertising, propagating, and sharing information about prohibited goods and services;
g) Providing and sharing images of Vietnam maps that do not show or incorrectly show national sovereignty;
h) Providing or sharing links to information on the Internet with prohibited content.
- A fine of VND 20,000,000 to VND 30,000,000 shall be imposed for disclosing information classified as State secrets, personal privacy secrets and other secrets that are not yet subject to criminal prosecution.
- Remedial measures: Forced removal of false or misleading information or information that violates the law due to violations specified in Clauses 1 and 2 of this Article.
