(Baonghean.vn) - This person had contact with the husband of a patient who tested positive for Corona virus in Vinh Phuc and is currently showing symptoms of cough and fever.

On the afternoon of February 12, the leader of the Nghe An Department of Health said that the Northwestern Nghe An Regional General Hospital is isolating, monitoring, and treating symptoms for a patient suspected of having the Corona virus. That is Mr. Phan Van Thanh (36 years old), in Nghia Son commune, Nghia Dan district.

According to the epidemiological report, on January 29, Mr. Thanh had contact with the husband of a patient who tested positive for Corona virus in Vinh Phuc. Currently, the patient's husband is in the hospital, isolated, monitored and has tested negative for Corona virus.

On February 7, Mr. Thanh showed symptoms such as cough, chest pain, sore throat, and runny nose. On the evening of February 11, Mr. Thanh was admitted to the Northwest Regional General Hospital for treatment and was taken to the isolation area of ​​the Tropical Diseases Department. At 2:00 a.m. on February 12, Mr. Thanh's sample was transferred to the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology for testing.

On the morning of February 12, the working group of the Steering Committee for the prevention and control of acute respiratory infections caused by the new strain of Corona virus in Nghe An province and the Nghe An Department of Health worked with the People's Committee of Nghia Dan district, the Health Station of Nghia Son commune and visited the home of patient Phan Van Thanh. The Steering Committee for the prevention and control of acute respiratory infections caused by the new strain of Corona virus in Nghe An province requested Nghia Dan district to count the number of people in close contact with patient Thanh; to propagate the disease to the family members of patient Thanh and to encourage and advise those in close contact with the patient not to travel much during this time and to wear masks to prevent the disease. Initial statistics show that there are 14 people in close contact with patient Thanh.

This afternoon, the Steering Committee for the prevention and control of acute respiratory infections caused by the new strain of Corona virus in Nghe An province will directly work and inspect the isolation and treatment of patient Thanh at the Northwestern General Hospital; reminding the hospital not to be subjective in disease prevention and control. Currently, the Northwestern General Hospital is strictly implementing isolation, monitoring and treating symptoms in accordance with the disease prevention and control plan set out by the province.

It is expected that tomorrow afternoon (February 13), the Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology will have the test results of this patient. "In case the test result is negative, we will ask the Institute to conduct another test, because this is a case of close contact with a person infected with nCoV. When the test result is available, we will widely announce the information," said Mr. Chinh.

Meanwhile, on the afternoon of February 12, at the Tropical Disease Center - Nghe An General Hospital, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc (24 years old, living in Van Phu hamlet, Hien Son commune, Do Luong) was also being quarantined. Mr. Nguyen Van Dinh - Director of the Center for Disease Control of Nghe An province said that this case had also had its sample taken for testing.

According to Mr. Dinh, Ms. Ngoc had just returned from China. Not long after, she developed a cough and fever. The woman then went to the medical facility to report.
