Nghe An needs to attract businesses to restructure the agricultural sector

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of December 9, the working delegation of the Central Steering Committee of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction led by Mr. Nguyen Linh Ngoc - Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, worked with the People's Committee of Nghe An province on the National Target Program on New Rural Construction in 2016 and overcoming environmental pollution in craft villages in the province.

On the side of the Provincial People's Committee, there was comrade Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction of the province; leaders of the departments: Agriculture - Rural Development, Natural Resources - Environment, Planning - Investment, Construction, Finance.

Overview of the meeting

The report of the Organizing Committee for the implementation of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction in the province shows that: In 2016, Nghe An mobilized nearly 3 trillion VND to invest in new rural construction; 30 communes met new rural standards, 1 village met new rural standards in Que Phong district; the outstanding debt in new rural construction in the province was over 751 billion VND.

Through investigation and survey by all levels and sectors, the outstanding debts are all within the control of the locality. Currently, the Provincial People's Committee directs debt repayment solutions of the localities.

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that in the past year, Nghe An has achieved many remarkable achievements. The goal in 2017 is that Nghe An strives to have 20 communes meeting NTM standards, building Nam Dan district to achieve NTM district status.

In 2017, the province set a target of having 20 communes meeting the NTM standards, striving for Nam Dan district to reach the NTM district finish line. Nghe An determined its tasks for the next 5 years, building more sustainable criteria. Especially paying attention to the income criteria for the people, the living conditions for the people.

Concluding the meeting, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Nguyen Linh Ngoc said that Nghe An needs to attract businesses to restructure the agricultural sector.

Some issues raised by members of the Central Steering Committee of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction for Nghe An in the coming time: Need to pay attention to increasing people's income; pay attention to environmental treatment in craft villages; the province needs to have a plan to allocate resources to environmental treatment, along with investment in infrastructure construction, need to preserve the rural village character in the countryside... promote food safety work; improve the quality of criteria in localities that have achieved New Rural Construction.

Concluding the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Linh Ngoc - Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment highly appreciated the achievements of Nghe An in the years of focusing on building the new rural areas. In order for the new rural construction movement to become stronger, the locality needs to focus on promoting propaganda work to all classes of people.

In agricultural production, the province needs to call on businesses to invest to create output for agricultural products. The current environmental problem in rural areas is not good, so it is necessary to propagate and mobilize people to protect the environment voluntarily, by collecting and safely treating waste, especially in craft villages.

The Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment also accepted some recommendations from Nghe An province to propose to the Central Government for consideration and handling in the coming time.
