Nghe An: More than 15,000 households still do not have national grid electricity
(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An has many hydroelectric plants, which contribute millions of kWh to the national grid each year. However, the current problem is that there are still many households in remote districts in the province that do not have access to the national grid.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thang - Head of Tuong Duong Economic Infrastructure Department said: Tuong Duong district currently has 5 communes, with 25 villages, over 1,700 households without national grid electricity, concentrated in Yen Tinh, Nhon Mai, Yen Hoa, Mai Son and Luong Minh communes.

Without electricity, people will face many obstacles such as difficulty accessing economic, cultural and social information, and have few opportunities to apply scientific and technological advances to agricultural development to improve their livelihoods.
Mr. Trinh Phuong Tram - Director of Nghe An Electricity Company shared: Up to this point, Nghe An has 232 villages and hamlets with more than 15,000 households that have not used grid electricity, mainly concentrated in mountainous districts such as Ky Son, Tuong Duong, Quy Chau, Que Phong. People in communes without electricity mainly have to use streams to "produce" electricity for lighting.
The reason for not having electricity is because the villages are in remote areas, the terrain is rugged, the mountainous traffic infrastructure in many places is not synchronously invested, the investment is large while the capital source is difficult.

The leader of Nghe An Electricity Company also added: The investment capital for the national power grid is mainly from the State budget. According to Decision 9781 dated October 30, 2014 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade on approving the investment project to build a rural power supply project from the national power grid in Nghe An province, in phase 2 (up to 2020), the power grid will be invested in 185 villages, but is currently lacking capital.
Therefore, to invest in power grids for villages and hamlets without national grid, the electricity industry is still waiting for budget capital.

Speed up the progress of handover and return of rural power grid
(Baonghean.vn) - Voters reported that the handover and return of the rural low-voltage power grid is slow, the payment of people's contributions has not been completed, and in some areas people are having to pay for household electricity at the same price as business electricity. The province is requested to direct the Electricity sector to pay attention to the progress of receiving and handing over the power grid and returning investment money to the people.

Need to repair and upgrade rural power grid
(Baonghean.vn) - Upgrading the rural power grid; policies for social organizations; widespread use of pesticides; inadequate payment of the 67 regime through the post office... are issues that voters proposed at the meeting of provincial People's Council delegates in Tan Phu and Nghia Hanh communes, Tan Ky district.
