Nghe An announces hotline on environmental protection

(Baonghean.vn) - To receive and handle information reflecting from people and localities about environmental pollution issues in the province, Nghe An Environmental Protection Department has set up a hotline via phone and email.

On November 6, Mr. Dinh Sy Khanh Vinh - Deputy Head of the Environmental Protection Department, Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Nghe An province said that in order to receive information reflecting on environmental pollution, the Department has set up a hotline via phone number:0888.695.658and email[email protected]

The hotline will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including weekends and holidays.

“The receiving officer will ensure confidentiality of correspondence and phone calls to the person providing information. If the environmental pollution issue falls under the jurisdiction of the district level, the provincial Environmental Protection Department will assign the district to inspect, handle and report the results,” said Mr. Vinh.

According to Mr. Vinh, the hotline system for receiving information on environmental pollution, when put into operation smoothly, will help state management agencies quickly grasp information on environmental pollution, promptly handle environmental incidents, and ensure a clean living environment for people.

Previously, on October 10, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha signed Directive 03 to promote the role of people and communities in environmental protection, creating a change in the response and handling of environmental pollution.

Directive 03 clearly states that, in order to increase the reception and handling of information reflecting and recommending environmental pollution from organizations and individuals, Minister Tran Hong Ha directs the establishment and operation of a hotline to receive information on environmental pollution from the central to local levels, operating smoothly and continuously 24/7, including holidays.
