Nghe An speeds up progress of key projects to attract tourists

In 2019, Nghe An tourism industry welcomed and served 6,591,000 tourists, tourism revenue is estimated at 4,581 billion VND, up 22% compared to 2018, reaching 104% of the year plan.

However, Nghe An has not really had new, breakthrough products to change the face of the tourism sector of the whole province due to the slow progress of implementing key tourism projects, mainly due to problems with land procedures and site clearance. Tourism infrastructure is still lacking in synchronization in both transportation and facilities serving tourists. In addition, Nghe An tourism is still affected by seasonality, especially tourism in coastal areas; the shortage of trained human resources during the peak tourist season continues; Tourism promotion activities have not kept up with the trend of smart tourism,...

In 2020, the tourism industry strives to welcome and serve 5.2 million visitors with accommodation, an increase of 10% compared to 2019, of which international visitors reached 171 thousand; revenue from tourism services reached 5,340 billion VND, an increase of 17% compared to 2019. To achieve the set target, in addition toStrengthening the direction of tourism development; promoting and improving the effectiveness of tourism promotion and advertising; the tourism industry proposes innovative solutions and improves the quality of tourism products.

Specifically: Strengthening investment attraction in the tourism sector; promptly removing difficulties and obstacles, speeding up the progress of key tourism projects such as: Vinpearl Cua Hoi entertainment and cable car complex phase II of Vingroup Corporation, Golf course project and adventure game services of Muong Thanh Safari Dien Lam eco-zone of Muong Thanh Group, Pha Lai eco-tourism area in Con Cuong, at the same time continuing to implement the procedures of Cau Cau mixed-use tourism and resort project, Eco-tourism and entertainment complex project in Nghi Tien commune of FLC Group, 5-star standard hotel of Vietravel Company to create a breakthrough for 2020 and the following years.

For localities, such as Nam Dan district: Coordinate and direct the early operation of Chung Son temple on the occasion of the 130th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday and strengthen the connection of Kim Lien National Special Relic Site with relics and scenic spots in the province.

Cua Lo Town: Coordinate the organization of the Cua Lo Tourism Festival 2020 in conjunction with expanding activities and services to serve tourists (walking streets, night markets, cultural activities, street entertainment...).

Vinh City: Promote the development of night services (night market street, walking street, book street...); expand the tourist route along Lam River to diversify activities and increase tourist spending; build a "Tet Flower Street" to attract tourists and residents.
