Nghe An: Covid-19 epidemic is basically under control, budget revenue in 7 months is nearly 11,000 billion VND

COVID-19 EPIDEMIC IS BASICALLY CONTROLLED

In July 2021, all levels and sectors focused on directing the implementation of key tasks for the third quarter and the last 6 months of 2021, especially the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic in the context of very complicated developments in the province and many localities across the country.

Thoroughly implementing the spirit of "fighting the epidemic like fighting the enemy", the Provincial People's Committee has requested localities to carefully prepare plans, enhance the responsibility of members, heads of Party committees and authorities, mobilize the entire political system to participate, rely on the strength of the people to drastically and synchronously deploy solutions with the determination to control and contain the epidemic in the fastest time.

As of 7:00 a.m. on July 23, the province recorded 183 cases of Covid-19 infection in 13 localities, with a cumulative number of patients who have recovered and been discharged from the hospital being 88. Up to now, the source of infection has been identified for most of the cases, and the epidemic situation in the province has been basically controlled. In Vinh City and many areas in the districts of Dien Chau, Nghia Dan, Quy Hop, Do Luong, and Quynh Luu, Directive 16 of the Prime Minister has been stopped.

Through the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, from May 28 to July 18, 2021, the province received 75.07 billion VND/registered 76.5 billion VND into the Provincial Covid-19 Prevention and Control Fund (of which, 59.49 billion VND in cash, goods worth 15.58 billion VND). Units, organizations and individuals in the province supported the people of Ho Chi Minh City with 295 tons of goods with a total value of 6.73 billion VND.

Currently, the epidemic is evolving in a large-scale, diverse, multi-strain, multi-disease wave; with a tendency to spread in many localities. Nghe An is facing the risk of the epidemic spreading from citizens from other provinces and cities, especially those from epidemic areas returning to their localities, carrying pathogens, which can cause infection in the community.

BUDGET REVENUE ESTIMATED NEARLY 11,000 BILLION VND

Despite many difficulties due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the socio-economic development results in the area have been positive. State budget revenue in the first 7 months of 2021 is estimated at 10,968.4 billion VND, reaching 78.2% of the estimate assigned by the Provincial People's Council and increasing by 26.6% over the same period in 2020.

The Industrial Production Index (IIP) in July 2021 is estimated to increase by 16.09% over the same period in 2020. In the first 7 months of the year, the IIP is estimated to increase by 24.45% over the same period in 2020. Of which, the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 23.69%.

Investment attraction in the province has seen many changes. As of July 19, 2021, the province has granted new licenses to 59 projects, adjusted 78 projects, with a total newly granted and increased investment capital of VND 13,735.91 billion. Compared to the same period in 2020, the number of projects increased by 18%, and the total investment increased by 3.14 times. As of July 19, 2021, 1,074 new enterprises were established, an increase of 3.37% over the same period; 508 enterprises have registered to resume operations.

As of July 10, 2021, the disbursement rate of public investment capital reached 32.2% compared to the detailed plan of more than VND 3,127 billion/total plan of more than VND 3,646 billion. The Department of Planning and Investment is reviewing to report to the Provincial People's Committee to transfer the first phase of slow-disbursement projects to projects with good disbursement progress and in need of additional capital to ensure the disbursement target of the assigned plan.

The province successfully organized the 2021 High School Graduation Exam on July 7-8, 2021 with more than 34,000 candidates taking the exam. The organization and grading of the entrance exam for grade 10 of high school and Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted for the 2021-2022 school year were completed seriously, safely, and in accordance with regulations. National defense and security were maintained; social order and safety were ensured.

HIGHEST FOCUS ON EPIDEMIC PREVENTION AND CONTROL

It is forecasted that in the coming time, the socio-economic situation will face many difficulties due to the complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic. In order to strive to achieve the highest targets and targets set for 2021, ensuring the completion of the "dual target"; in August 2021, the Provincial People's Committee requested all levels and sectors to focus on directing the synchronous and drastic implementation of 9 groups of tasks and solutions.

The most important task at this time is to focus on the prevention, control and eradication of Covid-19 in the province. Review the response scenarios to Covid-19 with a proactive mindset, quickly handle situations with the participation of the entire political system, avoid falling into a passive and confused situation; proactively adjust the epidemic prevention and control plan according to a higher plan; implement the principle of external containment and internal control.
