Nghe An: Raid on 'huge' mobile gambling den, confiscate hundreds of millions of dong

Hung Nguyen District Police have just successfully broken up Project 819B, raided a gambling den with 21 gamblers participating, and seized nearly 180 million VND in evidence.

Accordingly, at 3:30 p.m. on August 13, after identifying gamblers gathering to organize gambling, from secret ambush points, reconnaissance teams of Hung Nguyen District Police used synchronous professional measures to raid the house of Phan Van Duong (born 1962) in Hamlet 12, Hung Dao Commune, Hung Nguyen District, arresting 21 subjects while they were engrossed in gambling in the form of shaking dice.

Seized evidence was nearly 180 million VND, 2 cars, 15 cell phones, 1 dice shaking set...

It is known that before destroying this gang, the detectives had some time to grasp the situation, closely following the movements of the suspects who often gathered to gamble in the area; thereby establishing the operating rules of the gambling den owners.

To deceive the police, the two ringleaders, Le Van Dinh (born in 1990), residing in Hamlet 4, Hung Chinh Commune, and Phan Van Ha (born in 1982), residing in Hamlet 2A, Hung Dao Commune, Hung Nguyen District, used cars to pick up and drop off gamblers to a pre-arranged location, and arranged for security forces to guard and protect them.

The location raided by the police on August 13 was just one of many locations where Dinh and Ha opened gambling dens, as other locations were sometimes located in isolated fields, and sometimes in houses with high walls. Not only was the house surrounded by a solid fence, many iron gates, and many locks, but the house where the gambling den took place was also equipped with a dense camera system for surveillance.

This mobile gambling gang consisted of 8 women and 13 men, aged from 25 to 54, coming from many localities such as Thanh Chuong, Nam Dan, Hung Nguyen districts and Vinh city.

Before being caught, the gamblers all had criminal records for gambling; the two ringleaders, Dinh and Ha, were convicted of intentionally causing injury, theft, and intentionally damaging property.

It is known that currently, Hung Nguyen District Police are detaining 14 out of 21 subjects related to the acts of organizing gambling and gambling in Project 819B; at the same time, completing the dossier to handle according to legal regulations.
