Nghe An expects to complete 27/27 socio-economic targets in 2018

Expected to complete 27/27 socio-economic targets

According to the report of the Provincial People's Committee, in 2018, Nghe An is expected to complete 27/27 socio-economic targets. The growth rate of products in the province (GRDP) in 2018 is estimated at 8.65%, higher than the growth rate of recent years and higher than the average growth rate of the whole country (estimated at 6.7%).

The economic structure has shifted positively, with GRDP per capita in 2018 estimated at 38 million VND (34.14 million VND in 2017). Budget revenue in 2018 is expected to reach 13,141.2 billion VND, reaching 103.6% of the estimate.

The socio-cultural fields have many positive changes with many encouraging results; state management and administrative reform have many changes; national defense, security, social order and safety are ensured.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Xuan Son said that businesses in the province are not strong yet, our revenue sources are still difficult, so we need to pay attention to promoting internal strength.

In addition to the achieved results, the report also pointed out shortcomings and limitations, such as: some of the province's balanced revenues are lower than the estimate; investment attraction is low, projects implemented after signing investment agreements are still slow; administrative reform work in some agencies and units has not yet met requirements; security and order situation is present, some places still have potential complications...

At the meeting, comrades in the Provincial Party Standing Committee and representatives of a number of departments and branches also pointed out the advantages and difficulties in implementing socio-economic targets in 2018 and proposed development directions for 2019.

Strive for 2019, growth from 9-9.5%

In 2019, Nghe An strives for a GRDP growth rate of about 9-9.5%; budget revenue of about 13,498 billion VND; export turnover of 1.09 billion USD; total social development investment of about 74-75 thousand billion VND.

Speaking at the meeting, the Provincial Party Secretary commended localities, levels and sectors for their efforts to achieve the growth targets set for 2018.

Comrade Nguyen Huu Cau, Director of the Provincial Police Department, requested that localities coordinate well with functional agencies in ensuring security and order in the province during the upcoming Tet holiday.

The Provincial Party Secretary suggested that in 2019, we must strive to achieve the growth target of 9-9.5%, so from December this year, the relevant agencies must prepare scenarios carefully, specifying the goals; Urge and approve planning for projects such as: N5 route, Vinh-Cua Lo boulevard, Kim Lien relic site, the East of Binh Minh-Cua Lo road... publicize planning, attract investment. Strive to approve the economic development plan of Nghe An for the period 2030-2045 by the end of 2019 and early 2020;

Urge and direct the building of new rural movements and model new rural communes; focus on supporting Yen Thanh to reach the new rural district finish line, deploy the project of 27 new rural communes in mountainous areas;

Regarding industry, the Provincial People's Committee needs to support local businesses, paying special attention to businesses that create jobs and increase revenue;

Regarding security and order, to rectify the situation of transporting and trading firecrackers during Tet, it is necessary to assign responsibility to localities in setting off firecrackers during Tet; have synchronous solutions to rectify the situation of black credit, land auction brokers, etc.

In addition, the Provincial Party Secretary also reminded all levels, sectors, units and localities to mobilize and effectively use resources, focus on investment and development, promote the economy; promote administrative reform; strengthen discipline and order, improve the effectiveness and efficiency of state management.
