In 2017, Nghe An continued to be the leading province in the country in terms of the number of people going to work abroad. Of the 13,180 people going to work abroad, the "top" was workers in Nghi Loc district (1,221 people), followed by the districts: Nam Dan (1,179 people), Yen Thanh (1,167 people), Do Luong (1,092 people), Hung Nguyen (1,088 people), Quynh Luu (1,077 people) ...

During the year, Taiwan was the “hot” market chosen by more than 4,820 workers; the Japanese market rose to second place with 3,112 people, a significant increase compared to 2016 (2,244 people). Due to the impact of the policy prohibiting workers from 11 localities of Nghe An from going to Korea under the EPS program, the Korean labor market was not as vibrant as many years ago, with only 1,133 workers seeking opportunities to change their lives in the “land of kimchi”.
