Nghe An: Increasing crimes of snatching and child trafficking

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of June 7, under the chairmanship of comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial People's Committee continued its regular meeting in June 2016. Also attending were the Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of provincial departments, branches and sectors.

At the meeting, the Provincial People's Committee listened to and gave opinions on the implementation of basic construction; crime prevention and social evils; traffic safety and order; draft Resolution of the Provincial People's Council on handling the results of reviewing legal documents; regulations on tuition fees, tuition exemption and reduction and support for learning costs for educational institutions in Nghe An province.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting.

According to the report of the Department of Planning and Investment, in 2016, the public investment capital plan for the province's key projects is 350,000 million VND; the total capital for basic construction investment increased by 31.6%. In the first 6 months of the year, the province mobilized an estimated total social investment capital of 22,535,719 million VND, equal to 44.74% of the plan; the province has newly issued investment registration certificates for 34 projects/18,845.47 billion VND; the province has also mobilized many capital sources for basic construction investment, of which some sources have increased quite well such as ODA increased by 37.18%, central sector increased by 21.15%...

Comrade Nguyen Van Do - Director of the Department of Planning and Investment reported on the basic construction situation in the province in recent times.

To complete the plan targets and improve the efficiency of basic construction investment in 2016, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested all levels and sectors to focus on accelerating the progress of key projects of the province; mobilizing maximum capital sources to implement key projects; focusing on handling difficulties in compensation and site clearance; strictly implementing the mechanism for directing and implementing the 2016 plan.

Regarding the fight against crime and law violations, in the first 6 months of the year, the police force at all levels investigated and discovered 519 cases of violations of social order, arrested and handled 791 subjects, confiscated money and assets with a total value of about 6.1 billion VND; discovered and arrested 642 cases, 811 subjects for drug crimes; discovered and prosecuted 4 cases, 6 subjects for crimes related to positions, prosecuted and investigated 55 cases, 71 defendants for economic crimes...

Traffic Police force launched to respond to Traffic Safety Year 2016

The provincial police have directed the implementation of many peak campaigns to attack and suppress crimes, inspect and handle law violations, ensure security and order in the area, crimes against social order decreased by 29 cases (5.5%), property theft decreased by 89 cases (27.1%)... However, some types of crimes have increased such as robbery (increased by 9 cases), murder (increased by 3 cases), buying and selling of women and children (increased by 3 cases)... In the coming time, the provincial police recommend that all levels, sectors, and press agencies strengthen direction, coordinate propaganda and mobilize people to participate in crime prevention; promote the movement of the whole people to protect national security...

Regarding the review of the results of legal documents issued by the Provincial People's Council from December 31, 2015 onwards, based on the review results reported by provincial departments, branches and sectors and the review and comparison results, the Department of Justice drafted a Resolution to handle the results of the review of legal documents issued by the Provincial People's Council that were still in effect from December 31, 2015 onwards and explained the results of receiving, revising and perfecting the draft.

The meeting also listened to and gave opinions on tuition fee regulations and tuition exemption and reduction policies; and support for study costs in public educational institutions in Nghe An province.
