Nghe An: Students informed to stay home from school due to cold weather
(Baonghean.vn) - In recent days, the temperature in many localities in Nghe An province has dropped below 10 degrees Celsius. Faced with this reality, the Department of Education and Training has directed education departments to consider the actual situation to notify students to stay home from school.
Accordingly, the Nghe An Department of Education and Training requires that on days when the temperature drops, the Departments of Education must regularly monitor the weather reports at 6:20, 12:20, and 19:45 every day of Vietnam Television and Nghe An Radio and Television to update the weather. In case the outdoor temperature drops below 10 degrees Celsius, preschool and primary school students will be allowed to stay home from school. If the temperature drops below 7 degrees Celsius, high school and secondary school students will be allowed to stay home from school.

In addition, to ensure the health of students, the Department of Education and Training also requires schools to notify students through mass media. At the same time, it is necessary to develop a plan to organize make-up classes for students to ensure the program is in accordance with regulations.
Previously, the Ministry of Education and Training also sent an official dispatch requesting the Departments of Education and Training, universities, academies, institutes, colleges, and vocational colleges to closely monitor weather developments to proactively respond, and if necessary, allow students to take time off from school.
At the same time, organize a review and inspection of facilities and equipment at schools to find appropriate solutions to protect the environment, trees, school grounds and ensure the health of teachers and students. Special attention should be paid to kindergartens and preschools in mountainous areas and areas where ethnic minorities still face many economic difficulties.
Mr. Nguyen Trong Hoan, Deputy Chief of Office of the Department of Education and Training, also said: up to this point, primary and preschool students in Vinh City, Tan Ky District, and Con Cuong District have been notified to have a day off on Monday morning (January 25). Particularly in Ky Son District, communes in remote areas such as Na Ngoi, Nam Can, Muong Long, Huoi Tu, Tay Son, and Nam Can have been notified to have a day off due to temperatures dropping below 2 degrees Celsius. Communes on Route 7 will be considered and only a few schools will have to have a day off when the weather drops below 10 degrees Celsius. |
