Nghe An press conference to inform about socio-economic situation in the third quarter of 2025
On the morning of October 9, the People's Committee of Nghe An province held a press conference to inform about the socio-economic, defense and security situation in the third quarter of 2025.
Comrades Hoang Phu Hien - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Ba Hao - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism chaired the conference.
Attending the press conference were comrades of the Provincial Party Executive Committee: Hoang Thi Thu Trang - Director of the Department of Justice; Tran Minh Ngoc - President of the Nghe An Provincial Journalists Association, Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper, Radio and Television; Nguyen Van Khoa - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training. Also attending were comrade Pham Ngoc Canh - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; representatives of relevant departments, branches and sectors; representatives of central and local press agencies in the area and a large number of reporters and journalists.
According to the report of the Provincial People's Committee, in the third quarter of 2025, despite facing a large workload and consecutively suffering from 3 storms causing heavy damage to infrastructure, production and life, the socio-economic situation in the province still achieved positive results.
Economic growth is quite impressive, with the gross regional domestic product (GRDP) growth rate in the third quarter estimated at 8.61%, ranking 11th out of 34 provinces and cities and 2nd in the North Central sub-region. Higher than the 8.49% increase in the same period in 2024 and approaching the proposed scenario (8.96-9.61%). State budget revenue in the first 9 months is estimated at VND 20,015 billion, reaching 113% of the estimate, equal to 129.7% of the same period.
The cultural and social fields continue to receive attention and direction. Social security policies and activities for policy beneficiaries and the poor are carefully implemented.
At the press conference, representatives of press and media agencies raised many questions about issues of public interest, including: overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, security and order; construction order, agriculture, rural areas and the operation of two-level local governments; and resettlement of people when implementing projects.
Journalists' opinions requested departments and branches to provide information on policy payments for civil servants who quit their jobs according to Decree 178 in Nghe An province; the implementation of projects previously invested by the district level (old) after operating a two-level government; policies for Associations; support for businesses to develop production and business; quality of school canteens; universal education and school health; environmental issues, trees, lighting in urban areas; the settlement of old collective houses and apartment buildings in Vinh city (old)...
At the press conference, representatives of relevant departments and branches also answered and promptly provided information to the press.
Speaking at the press conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Phu Hien acknowledged and highly appreciated the central and provincial press agencies that have accompanied the province in the past time. In particular, they have promptly informed about the work of preventing and overcoming storms, floods, natural disasters; the 20th Congress of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030... The press agencies have promptly informed about the socio-economic development situation, important political events and issues supporting the province's management.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Phu Hien also hopes to continue receiving the attention, companionship and coordination of press agencies and reporters, focusing on promoting the implementation of the Central Resolutions; Resolution of the 20th Nghe An Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030.
