(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of April 19, Nghe An Provincial Police organized an award ceremony for Mr. Nguyen Van Diep - a police officer of Dien Bich commune (Dien Chau) for his contribution to the safe release of a hostage who was held by an HIV-infected person with a knife to the neck in the area.
As reported, at 8:00 a.m. on April 17, a rather dangerous hostage situation occurred in Dien Bich commune, Dien Chau district. Chu Van Son, from Quyet Thang hamlet, Dien Bich commune, held a knife to Nguyen Van Quang's neck (living in the same hamlet, 34 years old) and forced him to ride a motorbike for several hours.

During the time Son was controlling the hostage, Mr. Nguyen Van Diep - a police officer of Dien Bich commune, always followed closely to persuade him.
