Nghe An rewards excellent students and teachers with 2.5 billion VND

(Baonghean.vn) - On August 15, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued a decision to reward excellent international and regional students, excellent national students and students with high scores in the 2017 National High School Exam.

Accordingly, the People's Committee of Nghe An province decided to allocate 574,000,000 VND from the budget to reward 1 group and 9 individuals for their outstanding achievements in winning high prizes, and to train students to win high prizes in regional and international competitions for excellent students - school year 2016 - 2017. They are Nguyen Canh Hoang (Gold Medal of International Mathematics Olympiad), Tran Huu Binh Minh (Gold Medal of International Physics Olympiad), Phan Tuan Linh and Hoang Nghia Tuyen (Silver Medal of International Physics and Chemistry).

The province also awarded Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted and teachers Ho Sy Hung, Ho Dien Bien, Tran Van Nga, Nguyen Tuong Lan, and Tran Thi Quynh Anh for their outstanding achievements in training excellent national and international students. The award for Gold Medal winners is 78,000,000 VND/student, and Silver Medal winners is 65,000,000 VND/student.

The teacher's reward level is equivalent to the student's reward level and according to the number of students winning prizes.

Previously, in June, the People's Committee of Nghe An province also decided to reward students Tran Huu Binh Minh (Silver Medal of the Asian Physics Olympiad) with a reward of 36,300,000 VND and Phan Huu Linh (Encouragement Prize of the Asian Physics Olympiad) with a reward of 12,100,000 VND and Truong Thi Khanh Huyen - First Prize in Essay Writing of the International Russian Olympiad with a reward of 72,600,000 VND. The training teachers also received similar rewards.

Also on this occasion, the People's Committee of Nghe An province allocated 1,134,980,000 VND to reward teachers and students who achieved national excellent student results. Of which, the first prize is 12,100,000 VND/student/teacher, the second prize is 8,470,000 VND/student/teacher, the third prize is 6,050,000 VND/student/teacher and the encouragement prize is 2,420,000 VND/student/teacher. In addition, the 3 students who won the first prize at the National Science and Technology Innovation Competition were rewarded with a reward of 7,260,000 VND/student/teacher and 1 third prize with a reward of 3,630,000 VND/student/teacher.

In addition, the province also spent 624 million VND to reward 60 students who achieved high scores in the National High School Exam. The reward for each student is 10,400,000 VND.

Thus, after 8 times of organizing the commendation ceremony, this is the first time Nghe An has offered a "record" reward level. With this reward level, it is expected that there will be students and teachers who will be awarded approximately 200,000,000 VND/person.

The commendation and award ceremony was held on the evening of August 26, 2017.
