Nghe An celebrates the 157th birthday of patriot Phan Boi Chau
On the morning of December 26, on the occasion of the 157th anniversary of the birth of patriotic scholar Phan Boi Chau, at the Phan Boi Chau Memorial Site (Nam Dan town, Nam Dan district), Nghe An Relic Management Board held a flower and incense offering ceremony.
Attending the ceremony were members of the Provincial Party Executive Committee: Nguyen Thi Hong Hoa - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Tran Thi My Hanh - Director of the Department of Culture and Sports; representatives of the District Party Committee, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Nam Dan district; descendants of the Phan family and teachers and students from a number of schools in Nam Dan district.

Phan Boi Chau, whose real name was Phan Van San, and whose pen name was Sao Nam, was born on December 26, 1867 in Sa Nam village, Dong Liet commune, Nam Dan district (now Xuan Hoa commune, Nam Dan district) in a patriotic Confucian family.
During his youth, Phan Van San was an intelligent and perceptive person. Every day, witnessing the misery and suffering of the people who lost their country, deep in Nho San's heart, the idea of patriotism and love for his people was kindled.

With a policy of saving the country in a violent direction, Phan Boi Chau founded Duy Tan Hoi and Viet Nam Quang Phuc Hoi to gather forces to fight with revolutionary weapons and ask for aid from outside. Among those movements, the most prominent wereEastern Travel Movementwith the spirit of “same continent, same race, same culture”. This movement created the foundation for changes in our country in the early 20th century, and at the same time was an important link, marking the milestone of Vietnam - Japan friendship in the field of culture - education.
Not only was Phan Boi Chau a patriot, he was also a great poet and cultural figure. He left behind a huge poetic legacy with thousands of works. These poetic legacies contributed to beautifying the flower garden of Vietnamese literature in the early 20th century, arousing patriotism, national pride, and the spirit of persistent revolutionary struggle in all classes of people.

Throughout his life, Phan Boi Chau devoted himself entirely to the national liberation movement in the early years of the 20th century. He was a shining example of patriotism, demonstrating his loyalty and devotion to the country and the mountains and rivers. As affirmed by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc - Ho Chi Minh: He was "a hero, an angel, a person who sacrificed himself for national independence, revered by 20 million enslaved people".

The flower and incense offering ceremony to commemorate patriotic scholar Phan Boi Chau on the occasion of his 157th birthday is an activity to commemorate and honor his great contributions; at the same time, to propagate, educate and foster patriotism and revolutionary tradition for cadres, party members and people.
