Nghe An established an interdisciplinary delegation to inspect the law compliance of 53 sand and gravel mining enterprises.
Among the 53 enterprises operating in sand and gravel mining that will be inspected by the Interdisciplinary Team, there is Thanh Chuong Sand, Gravel Mining and Transportation Joint Stock Company - a new enterprise that has submitted a request to reduce the area of the sand mine in Dong Van commune (Thanh Chuong).
On April 18, 2025, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 1098/QD-UBND to establish an interdisciplinary inspection team to inspect the compliance with the law in mineral activities of enterprises licensed to exploit sand and gravel in Nghe An province.
Member ofInterdisciplinary inspection teamwith the participation of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, Department of Construction; Economic Police Department, Provincial Police; representatives of the District People's Committee, Commune People's Committee where the inspected subject is located. Mr. Le Quang Huy - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment was assigned by the Provincial People's Committee to be the Head of the interdisciplinary inspection team.
Regarding the inspection content, the Interdisciplinary Team will inspect the compliance with laws on minerals, land, environment, compliance with mine design, labor safety, use of industrial explosives, fulfillment of financial obligations, taxes and other relevant laws of the inspected enterprises. The inspection period is from January 1, 2020 to the time of inspection.
The interdisciplinary inspection team is responsible for developing an inspection plan and reporting to the Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment for approval; has the right to request relevant businesses, organizations and individuals to work and provide documents related to the inspection content.
At the same time, the Interdisciplinary Inspection Team is responsible for handling according to its authority or recommending and proposing the Provincial People's Committee and relevant authorities to handle violations of enterprises, organizations and individuals according to the provisions of law.
According to the list issued with Decision No. 4098/QD-UBND, there will be 53 sand and gravel mining enterprises located in the districts of Tan Ky, Nghia Dan, Quy Chau, Quy Hop, Anh Son, Do Luong, Thanh Chuong, Hung Nguyen, Nam Dan, and Thai Hoa town inspected by the Interdisciplinary Team.
Thanh Chuong Sand, Gravel Mining and Transport Joint Stock Company, a new enterprise that has submitted a request to the competent authority to reduce the area of the sand mine in Dong Van commune (Thanh Chuong), is also on the list of 53 inspected sand and gravel mining enterprises.
Regarding the mining activities ofThanh Chuong Sand, Gravel Exploitation and Transportation Joint Stock Company, at the end of March 2025, met with protests from the people of Dong Van commune. According to the people of Dong Van commune, this company organized mining outside the mine area, causing landslides in Tien Quanh hamlet.
Based on the feedback from the people and the request of the People's Committee of Thanh Chuong district, on April 3, 2025, the interdisciplinary working group chaired by the Department of Agriculture and Environment inspected and determined that 1,117m2 of alluvial land adjacent to the sand mine that the Provincial People's Committee had granted to Thanh Chuong Sand, Gravel Mining and Transport Joint Stock Company was in a state of landslide. The interdisciplinary working group then requested the People's Committee of Thanh Chuong district and the People's Committee of Dong Van commune to verify and clarify the cause for strict handling according to the provisions of law; at the same time, requested Thanh Chuong Sand, Gravel Mining and Transport Joint Stock Company to narrow the area of the sand mine in Dong Van commune.
On April 4, 2025, Thanh Chuong Sand, Gravel and Transport Exploitation Joint Stock Company submitted a request to narrow the sand mine in Dong Van commune with an area of 2.65 hectares. On the side of Thanh Chuong District People's Committee, on April 8, 2025, there was a document assigning Dong Van Commune People's Committee to organize verification and clarify the cause of the landslide in Tien Quanh hamlet.
According to Mr. Nguyen Quoc Chuong - Chairman of Dong Van Commune People's Committee, at present, the Commune's Working Group is still conducting investigation and verification work.
