Nghe An: Heavy rain cut off many roads in the mountainous commune of Na Loi, trucks overturned, some households had to be urgently evacuated
From the night of July 5 to the morning of July 6, prolonged heavy rains caused significant damage in Na Loi commune (former Ky Son district), Nghe An province. Water levels in streams and creeks rose, flooding the spillways in Na Khuong and Pieng Lau villages, causing local traffic jams for many hours.

Notably, the Huoi Tu – Na Loi – Keng Du route was eroded at 3 points, with an estimated volume of rock and soil of about 1,200m³. The Noong Han – Huoi Kho inter-village route also had 2 landslides with about 1,500m³ of rock and soil, temporarily isolating Huoi Kho village.
Regarding housing, landslides caused rocks and soil to flow into two households in Don Boong and Na Loi villages, one of which was 50% damaged. The commune People's Committee organized an emergency evacuation of one household with four members. Huoi Xan Kindergarten was also affected, with about 50m³ of rocks and soil sliding behind the school.

Ms. Pit Thi Ha - Chairman of Na Loi Commune People's Committee said: Faced with the above situation, Na Loi Commune People's Committee promptly directed the Commune's Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue to deploy emergency plans: sending forces to stand guard at flooded areas, supporting cleanup, evacuating people and maximizing the "4 on-site" motto.

Currently, local authorities are continuing to inspect, count the damage and recommend superiors to support overcoming the consequences of floods, ensuring stable lives and travel for people in affected areas.
"Currently, the weather is still heavy rain in the commune, local authorities have assigned forces to be on duty at flooded traffic points, with high risk of landslides to rescue and support people," Ms. Pit Thi Ha added./.
