(Baonghean.vn) - According to the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Nghe An, the number of workers going to work abroad through export has increased sharply and accounts for the majority of workers connected and looking for new jobs in the first 10 months of this year.

Specifically, by the end of October, Nghe An created jobs for 43,554 workers, reaching 101.45% of the plan, up 43.1% over the same period.

Notably, among the newly employed workers, 20,105 are labor export workers, accounting for 46.1%, an increase of nearly 3 times compared to 2021 (over 6,700 workers) and nearly double the average of many years (from 12,000 - 13,000 workers).

Currently, Nghe An workers mainly go to Japan, Taiwan, Korea and the Middle East with quite high income, commonly from 10 - 40 million VND/person/month, 5-6 times higher than local workers.

Mr. Tran Phi Hung - Head of Employment and Labor Safety Department, Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs of Nghe An:The reason why the number of exported workers this year has increased sharply compared to the average of many previous years is because in previous years, due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, many workers completed their documents but could not leave the country, so they were stuck. According to the tradition of many years, the end of the year is the time when many workers leave the country, so the number of exported workers will certainly increase.

Previously, according toEmployment project in Nghe An provinceIn the period of 2015-2020, the number of workers connected and provided with jobs was 189,056 people, of which 55,013 people were newly employed in the province, accounting for 29.9%; workers going to other provinces were 69,300 people, accounting for 36.55%; workers going abroad under contract were 64,743 people, accounting for 34.2%.

Entering the 2021-2022 period, the number of workers applying for export increased sharply due to reduced costs, transparent procedures, and higher income.

Nghe An is currently attracting a number offoreign investment project FDIlarge scale, it is expected that from now until 2025, 100,000 people will be needed, mainly female workers, unskilled workers and 3 main industries: electronics, textiles and footwear. Because working in the province has low income, Nghe An workers tend to go to other provinces to work or go abroad to work. To attract and retain workers, recruiting businesses need to have a plan to coordinate training and ensure policies for workers who are local children./.
