(Baonghean.vn) - Rain caused by storm No. 3 has caused the water level in the upper Nam Mo River in Ky Son to rise. And this afternoon, many people living in communes along this river risked their lives to collect wood and firewood despite the strong floodwaters.

The rising river water swept away a lot of rubbish and timber from upstream in Laos. Taking advantage of this opportunity, many people in the highland villages such as Ba, Na Chao, Na Luong 2, Na Luong 1 in Huu Kiem commune; Cau Tam, Sao Mai, Binh Son 1, Canh village in Ta Ca commune, Ky Son district rushed into the flood to collect timber and firewood.

To salvage large trees, many households even used motorboats to block the flood. In Ta Ca commune, not only young men but also quite old people and even children participated in the salvage of firewood.
