June 5, Provincial People's CommitteeNghe AnDecision No. 1588/QD-UBND issued the plan for Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases in Nghe An province in 2023 to provincial departments, branches, sectors, units; People's Committees of districts, cities, towns and related units.

The plan clearly states: Nghe An is a province with a large area; high domestic and international exchanges; harsh climate, frequent floods; complex environmental pollution, so in addition to facing invading epidemics, endemic diseases also often pose a risk of outbreaks. The issuance of a Plan for the prevention and control of infectious diseases in Nghe An province in 2023 to be ready to respond to epidemic developments is extremely necessary.
The plan sets out the following goals: Minimize the rate of morbidity and mortality from infectious diseases compared to the average of the 2016-2020 period; promptly control and minimize the risk of disease outbreaks to contribute to protecting, caring for and improving people's health and socio-economic development.
The specific targets are: Maintaining the achievements in eradicating polio and eliminating neonatal tetanus; the rate of full vaccination in the Expanded Immunization Program for children under 1 year old reaches over 95% at the commune level. 100% of newly emerging diseases and epidemics are detected and handled promptly; 100% of border medical quarantine subjects are monitored, checked and medically treated according to regulations, early detection and timely handling of disease cases according to regulations, minimizing the entry and spread of epidemics...
Prevent the Covid-19 epidemic from breaking out in the community and medical facilities; minimize the entry of Ebola, MERS-CoV, and influenza A (H7N9); 100% of outbreaks of influenza A (H5N1), influenza A (H5N6), monkeypox, acute hepatitis of unknown cause, and other dangerous and emerging infectious diseases are detected and handled promptly, minimizing entry and spread.
Reduce the number of people with dengue fever by 5% compared to 2022; the rate of dengue fever is below 0.008/100,000 people, with no deaths; control the number of deaths due to rabies to below 6; the rate of hand, foot and mouth disease is below 100/100,000 people, with a mortality rate of below 0.05%; the rate of measles and rubella is below 40/100,000 people, with a mortality rate of below 0.1%... Reduce by 5% whooping cough, diphtheria, Japanese encephalitis B and other infectious diseases in the expanded immunization program compared to the average of the 2016-2020 period.
