Tạm giữ 4 đối tượng chuyên mổ, tuồn thịt lợn dịch bệnh ra thị trường
The police have just extended the criminal detention period for 4 subjects, including: Le Manh Dang (born 1990), Mai Van Hung (born 1989), both in Tho Binh commune; Ngo Thi Lan (born 1981) in Lam Son commune and Le Huu Tuan (born 1987), in Kien Tho commune (Thanh Hoa) for violating regulations on food hygiene and safety...
Previously, on July 30, the Economic Police Department, the Provincial Police and the Market Management Department of Thanh Hoa province coordinated to inspect businesses and establishments trading in pig slaughter and pork in the province.
During the inspection at the establishments owned by Le Manh Dang, Mai Van Hung and Ngo Thi Lan, these subjects were unable to present documents related to business activities.
Simultaneously inspecting these facilities, the authorities discovered and seized a total of 1,609 kg of pork at the homes of Le Manh Dang, Mai Van Hung and Ngo Thi Lan. All of the above pork had no documents proving its origin, quarantine and was suspected of being diseased pork. According to the initial statements of the subjects, the above pork all came from diseased pigs, the subjects bought it to slaughter and sell on the market.

Thanh Hoa Province’s Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department took samples of pork seized from the suspects’ homes and sent them to the Central Veterinary Diagnosis and Testing Center for disease testing. The results showed that all samples tested positive for African swine fever virus.
Through the struggle, the subjects confessed that from April 2025, under the direction of Le Manh Dang, the subjects began to buy sick and weak pigs from wholesalers and then sell and slaughter them at home. The slaughtering time usually took place from about 0:30 to 3:00 am.
Trading and consuming sick or dead pigs is a violation of the law and can result in an administrative fine of between VND6 million and VND20 million, or criminal prosecution.
Through the above incident, the police agency recommends that the purchase, sale, transportation and consumption of sick and dead pigs not only contributes to the spread of pathogens, causing great damage to the livestock industry, but also threatens public health if sick pork is consumed. Above all, people absolutely do not buy or sell sick pigs, only buy meat with clear origin and quarantine stamps. In case of detecting violations, people can report to the nearest authorities for verification and timely handling. Let's join hands to protect public health.
Hiện cơ quan Công an đang tiếp tục điều tra, mở rộng và xử lý nghiêm các đối tượng có hành vi vi phạm.
